"What on earth are you two doing up so early?" Stiles asks when he comes back from his run to find Elena and Alaric dressed up in workout gear and drinking coffee in the kitchen.

"I've asked Ric to teach me how to defend myself from vampires." Elena answers tersely.

Stiles freezes from where he is in the kitchen before turning to look at his sister.

"What's with the attitude?" Stiles questions.

"I don't have an attitude." Elena huffs.

Stiles turns his head to look at Ric.

"Sounds like you have an attitude." Ric agrees with Stiles.

"You knew...you knew where Stefan and Klaus were all summer. You were talking to them. Didn't you think for one second to tell me so that we could have saved Stefan." Elena breaks and lets out her grievances.

"Okay, so the problem is that your stupid." Stiles states and ignores the way that Alaric is watching them with amusement.

"I am not stupid." Elena denies.

"Really, because all of this summer I have been threatened, pushed around and generally tormented by Klaus and instead of trying to focus on keeping all of us alive by doing what Klaus asked, I should have been telling you where they were so that you could go and get yourself killed." Stiles dramatizes his summer...just a tad. Klaus wasn't really that bad, but Stiles gets the feeling that if he let Elena know that she would throw a fit.

"I wouldn't have..." Elena starts.

"Yes! Yes, you would have. Don't think that I don't know about your little journey through the mountains or to Chicago. I'm very aware of how willing you are to risk your life despite how much it will hurt the rest of us if you were killed." Stiles reminds.

"I love him." Elena defends.

"I know...I know you do, but you've got to remember that you have people who love you too. And we would all be devastated if you died." Stiles says.

Elena doesn't say anything after that, and Alaric has stopped looking amused and has started looking vaguely uncomfortable. Probably because he was one of the one's enabling Elena's suicide mission.

"Do you...do you want to come with us?" Ric asks.

Stiles considers it for a second. Having some hand-to-hand combat would probably be a good idea but if Stiles is honest, he thinks that learning from a vampire would probably be better as he would be getting an actually chance to test his speed against vampire speed.

"Maybe, but not today." Stiles answers.

Alaric nods before he and Elena leave the house.

Stiles drove to school feeling...honestly, he wasn't sure what he was feeling. He kept thinking about his summer and Klaus...and Klaus' stupid blue eyes. And he isn't allowed to have a thing for any original's especially not Klaus. The weird bubbling in his gut that he gets whenever he's around Elijah is bad enough already.

When he arrives at school, he quickly spots Elena, Bonnie and Caroline just standing there and looking at the school. He gets out of his jeep after he's parked and walks over to the girls.

"Here we are. Senior year." Caroline exclaims as he walks to the right of Elena.

"Anyone else think it should feel slightly more empowering?" Bonnie inquires.

"Okay so prank night was a bust." Stiles makes a noise in the back of his throat. "What?"

"I kind of stayed behind after everyone left and magicked all the pranks complete." Stiles informs.
