Addison had made it home long before Bucky walked through the door.
"Hi sweet girl," he was shrugging his jacket off his shoulders, hanging it up in the closet before walking to the living room where his wife sat with a book, curled up on the sofa, a smile crossing her mouth when he leaned down to press a kiss to her lips, "how was your day?"
"Good," she shut the book, setting it down on the coffee table before following Bucky to the master, climbing onto the bed and settling against the headboard when he walked into the bathroom to shower. "I need to tell you something, but you have to promise me you won't get mad." Bucky furrowed his brows, his shirt half unbuttoned when he walked back into the bedroom, standing at the foot of the bed. Addison wasn't backing down, crossing her arms, "Promise me you'll let me explain everything before you reply." She held out her pinky and Bucky couldn't help chuckling, looping his pinky with hers before pressing his lips to her forehead.
"I promise baby girl," he sat down on the edge, turning all his attention to his wife.
"I went to Biloxi, I had a lead that Mila's father was there, I went to check it out," Bucky went to question but Addison held up her hand, "I brought Steve, Hayden, and Nicolas with me, I promise I didn't go alone," that satisfied Bucky, his mouth closing as he continued to listen to his wife, "it was legit, he's their part-time, I left my information, I just wanted you to know before it slipped out of someone's mouth by accident, I wanted you to hear it from me."
Bucky nodded, getting up to go shower. "As long as you brought people with you I'm happy, but I need you to get dressed."
Addison furrowed her eyebrows, she was wearing a pair of silk shorts and a tank top, content with being home for the evening. There was no event she knew of that was planned. She didn't have to go to the club and as far as she knew Rebecca wasn't hosting a dinner this week before her symptoms had been so terrible and she just wanted to rest. She had already washed her face, removed makeup and dirt, and showered to remove sweat. Addison was ready for a night in with her husband, something that was so incredibly rare.
"Why?"
"Mom and Dad are back in town," Bucky's voice fell flat. He hadn't spoken to his father since he found out that the man didn't warn Bucky about the threat to his wife. And truly if Rebecca wasn't begging him to attend a family dinner tonight he wouldn't be there, but his sister didn't want to face their father alone. Addison's face fell at the news, as soon as Bucky felt like she would be able to handle the information, he told her about the threat and how George didn't warn them in time to protect her. So now not only was Bucky irritated with George and Sarah, Addison felt betrayed by them. "Rebecca's begging us to go because she doesn't want to face them alone."
"Why can't Steve go instead?"
"Steve is coming baby, he's on his way now." Bucky walked back over to the bed, sitting down in front of his wife, taking her hands in his. "I know you don't want to see them, and I don't either, but Rebecca needs us to be there," Addison's eyes softened at his words, their fingers lacing together, "Warner is coming too, none of us want to be around them, but we can do it for Rebecca, she needs her family right now baby, especially since Dad and Mama won't stop calling Sam and her."
Addison relented, dropping her head before sliding her legs over the side of the bed, going to stand up. "I don't want to stay the night like we normally do."
"Dinner and then home baby," Bucky stood up with her, lifting her up enough for her legs to wrap around his hips, "you don't have to dress up like we normally do either, Rebecca told me that we're all dressing causal, dad and mama aren't in charge this time."
