Donghyuck and Mark had been together for years, their love strong and unwavering. Unfortunately, their happiness was cut short as Mark received the devastating news of his lung cancer diagnosis. Despite the prognosis, Mark remained positive, wanting to cherish every moment with his beloved Donghyuck.
As Mark lay in a hospital bed, Donghyuck held onto his hand, tears streaming down his face. They had spent countless days and nights in this room, surrounded by the sterile white walls and the sound of machines beeping.
Mark took a deep breath, his chest heaving with the effort. "Donghyuck, my love," he whispered, his voice weak but full of love. "I have something to tell you."
Donghyuck leaned closer, his heart heavy with the knowledge that time was running out for his beloved partner. "What is it, Mark?" he asked, his voice trembling.
"I need you to know how much I love you," Mark said, his eyes filled with tenderness. "You've brought so much joy into my life, and I'm grateful for every moment we've shared together."
Donghyuck's eyes filled with tears, and he swallowed hard, trying to keep his composure. "I love you too, Mark," he said, his voice thick with emotion. "More than words can express."
Mark smiled softly, his eyes closing for a few moments as he tried to catch his breath. Then he opened them again, and his gaze met Donghyuck's. "I need to ask you for a favor," he said, his voice trembling.
"Anything," Donghyuck said, his heart aching for Mark and wanting to fulfill any request he might have.
Mark took another deep breath, and then he began his speech. "When I'm gone, I don't want you to be sad," he said, the words coming out in a whisper. "I want you to remember the good times we had together and all the love we shared."
Donghyuck nodded, tears streaming down his face. "I'll try," he said. "But it won't be easy."
"I know," Mark said, his voice filled with compassion. "But promise me that you'll try to be happy, that you'll find joy in life again."
Donghyuck nodded again, his throat tight with emotion. "I promise, Mark," he said, his voice choked with tears.
Mark smiled again, his hand tightening in Donghyuck's grasp. "You know, I never believed in love at first sight until I met you," he said, his voice growing weaker with every passing word.
Tears streamed down Donghyuck's face, his heart heavy with the uncertainty of how to go on without Mark. "You changed my life, Mark," he said, leaning closer, not wanting to lose a moment of his partner's presence.
"I'm so glad I did," Mark said, his gaze filled with love. "And now, it's time for me to go. But remember, I'll always be with you, in your heart and in your memories."
Donghyuck nodded, feeling as if his heart were breaking into a million pieces. He leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to Mark's lips, his tears wetting his face as he held his partner's hand tightly.
And then, Mark took his final breath, his body going still, his eyes closed forever. Donghyuck sat there silently, holding his hand and trying to find the strength to bear the loss.
As he sat there, he remembered Mark's words, promising to fulfill his request, to find happiness again, to cherish every moment and treat it as a precious gift. He would remember Mark always, and the love they shared would continue to live on in his heart.
