Renjun and Donghyuck had been dating for a few months now, and they had decided to take a road trip together. They were driving down a long, deserted road when suddenly, everything around them started to change. The sky turned an eerie shade of yellow, and the trees started to warp and twist.
Before they knew it, they were in a place unlike anything they had ever seen before. The walls were made of stained yellow tiles, and the fluorescent lights overhead flickered constantly. The air was thick with a musty smell, and it felt like they were being watched by something in the shadows.
Renjun and Donghyuck looked at each other in confusion and fear. They had no idea where they were or how they had ended up there.
"What is this place?" Renjun asked, his voice barely above a whisper.
"I don't know," Donghyuck replied, his eyes scanning the dimly lit corridors. "But we need to find a way out."
They started to walk down the hallway, their footsteps echoing loudly in the silence. Every turn they took seemed to lead them deeper and deeper into the maze-like structure.
At one point, they heard a sound coming from one of the nearby rooms. It was a low growling noise, like some kind of animal was trapped inside.
Renjun and Donghyuck hesitated, unsure of what to do. But then, they heard someone shouting for help from further down the hallway.
Without thinking, they rushed towards the sound. They found a man trapped under a pile of debris, his leg caught in a steel frame that had fallen on him.
Renjun and Donghyuck worked together to free the man, using all their strength to lift the heavy frame off his leg. The man thanked them profusely before limping away down the hallway.
As they continued to explore the maze, Renjun and Donghyuck came across more and more strange things. There were rooms filled with furniture and appliances, but nothing seemed to work. There were hallways where the walls seemed to bulge outwards, and they had to duck and crawl to get past.
They also encountered some terrifying creatures lurking in the shadows. Some of them looked humanoid, with twisted, gnarled limbs and glowing eyes. Others looked like giant insects, crawling along the walls and ceilings.
Renjun and Donghyuck had to be careful not to make too much noise or attract attention. They explored as quietly as possible, using their phones as flashlights to guide their way.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, they found a door that led outside. They pushed their way through it, blinking in the bright sunlight.
They looked around, disoriented at first. They were standing in the middle of a desolate wasteland, nothing but an endless expanse of sand and dust stretching out before them.
But at least they were free.
Renjun and Donghyuck hugged each other tightly, relieved to be out of the backrooms. They would never forget the terror and confusion they had felt during their time there.
As they made their way home, they couldn't help but wonder how they had ended up in that strange, twisted world. And they knew it was something they would probably never understand.
