Chenle and Jeno had been dating for over a year, and to everyone around them, they were the perfect couple. But lately, Jeno had been struggling with depression. He tried to hide it from Chenle, but it was starting to affect their relationship. Jeno would cancel plans last minute, avoid physical touch, and often seemed distant.

Chenle noticed the change and triedto talk to Jeno about it but he would always brush it off, telling Chenle he was just tired or had a lot on his mind. But one day, when Chenle was visiting Jeno at his apartment, he noticed the familiar signs of Jeno's depression. He was lying in bed with the curtains drawn, not even bothering to get up to greet Chenle.

Chenle sat on the edge of Jeno's bed, taking his hand in his, "Hey, what's going on?"

Jeno took a deep breath before turning to Chenle, "I've been feeling really overwhelmed lately. I don't know what's wrong with me. I just feel like I can't keep up with everything anymore."

Chenle listened carefully, understanding the weight of Jeno's words. "Do you want to talk about it? I'm here for you, Jeno. I'll always be here for you."

Jeno sighed, tears forming in his eyes, "I appreciate it, Le. I really do. But I don't think I can keep putting this on you. It's not fair to you. I've been distant and I've canceled plans on you so much lately that it's not fair. I know that you deserve better."

Chenle felt his heart break at Jeno's words, "No, Jeno, that's not true. I want to help you through this, I really do, just not as your boyfriend. I can be your friend, your support system. I don't have to be your boyfriend if that's too much for you right now."

Jeno looked at Chenle, pain etched in his face, "But I don't want to lose you, Le. You mean everything to me."

Chenle wiped away Jeno's tears, "You won't lose me. I'll always be here for you, no matter what. But we need to figure out what's best for you, Jeno. We need to prioritize your mental health."

Jeno nodded, looking at Chenle with a mixture of sadness and gratitude, "Thank you, Le. You're right. I need to take care of myself."

Chenle hugged Jeno tightly, "We'll figure it out, together. I promise."

And even though they were no longer boyfriends, Chenle and Jeno's bond remained strong. They continued to support each other, as friends, knowing that their love went beyond the confines of a romantic relationship.
