Jisung and Chenle had been best friends since kindergarten. They had done everything together, from playing in the park to going to concerts of their favorite band. They were both in their last year of high school and were determined to make the most of it.

One day, Jisung walked into school with a huge grin on his face. Chenle immediately knew something was up.

"Dude, what's got you all smiley?" Chenle asked as he clapped his friend on the back.

Jisung's grin grew even wider. "I've got a girlfriend!"

Chenle's heart sank. He had always known that Jisung would eventually find someone he cared about, but the reality of it hit him like a ton of bricks. Jisung had always been there for him, and now he was going to have to share him with someone else.

"That's awesome," Chenle said, trying not to let the disappointment show in his voice.

Jisung looked at his friend and saw the sadness in his eyes. "Hey, what's wrong? You don't seem happy for me."

Chenle tried to put on a brave face. "I'm happy for you, really. I just...I don't want to lose you as my best friend."

Jisung grinned. "You'll never lose me. You're my best friend, no matter what."

Chenle couldn't help but feel relieved. Jisung always knew just what to say to make him feel better.

Over the next few weeks, Jisung spent most of his time with his girlfriend, and Chenle tried not to let it bother him. He knew that Jisung was happy, and that was all that mattered.

One day, Jisung came over to Chenle's house, looking visibly upset.

"What's wrong?" Chenle asked, his heart sinking as he saw how unhappy his friend was.

Jisung took a deep breath. "Hyunjin and I broke up."

Chenle's heart went out to his friend. "I'm sorry. That sucks. Do you want to talk about it?"

Jisung nodded and the two of them sat down on the couch. Jisung told Chenle all about what had happened between him and his girlfriend, and Chenle listened intently, offering words of comfort whenever he could.

After a while, Jisung looked up at Chenle. "I'm sorry, man. I know I've been spending a lot of time with her lately, and I haven't been there for you as much as I should have."

Chenle shrugged. "It's okay. I knew you were happy with her, and that's all that mattered to me. But I'm here for you now, and I always will be."

The two of them shared a smile, and Jisung realized just how lucky he was to have a friend like Chenle. He knew that no matter what happened, Chenle would always be there for him, and that was something he would never take for granted.
