Donghyuck had been feeling something stirring inside him for a long time but he had always tried to push it down. He and Renjun had been best friends since they were kids and he didn't want to risk ruining their friendship by saying anything. But seeing Renjun like this so fragile and sad it was too much for him to bear.

So he took a deep breath and approached him at the lunch table. "Hey Junnie," he said softly. "What's going on? You haven't touched your food."

Renjun just shrugged but Donghyuck knew something was wrong. He steered him towards the janitor's closet a little hideaway they had discovered years ago. It was dark and cramped but it was their secret spot.

"What's going on Junnie?" Donghyuck repeated once they were inside. "Talk to me."

Renjun looked down at his feet tears pricking at the corners of his eyes. "I...I've been struggling," he whispered. "With food. I...I have anorexia."

Donghyuck felt his heart stop. He knew Renjun had been getting thinner lately but he hadn't realized it was this serious. "Oh Junnie," he breathed pulling his friend into a tight hug. "I'm so sorry."

Renjun cried into Donghyuck's chest tears soaking through his shirt. "I can't stop," he whispered. "It's like...like a voice in my head telling me not to eat."

Donghyuck's heart ached for him and he knew he had to do something. "Hey," he said softly pulling Renjun's face up to look at him. "You're not alone okay? We'll figure this out together."

Renjun looked up at him with eyes full of gratitude and in that moment something shifted between them. They both felt it a spark of something more than just friendship. They leaned towards each other hesitantly their lips meeting in a soft tentative kiss.

It was like something clicked in Donghyuck's mind. This was what he had been feeling all along this pull towards Renjun that he couldn't explain. He kissed him back with all the love and tenderness he had been holding back for so long.

Renjun kissed him back his fingers tangling in Donghyuck's hair. It was like the world fell away leaving just the two of them in this tiny closet their bodies pressed together their tongues dancing together.

They pulled away eventually both of them a little breathless. "Donghyuck," Renjun whispered his voice shaking. "I...I think I love you."

Donghyuck's heart swelled with emotion. "I love you too Junnie," he said softly. "And we're going to get through this together. No matter what."

They hugged each other tightly both of them feeling like everything was going to be alright as long as they had each other.
