Genre:Romance
FluffJungwoo had always known he was different. Growing up, he had always felt that something was off, that he didn't quite fit in.It wasn't until he hit puberty that he realized what it was: he was gay. The realization brought with it a sense of relief, but also a sense of fear. He knew all too well the kind of ridicule and prejudice that awaited him if people found out.
As he entered high school, Jungwoo tried his best to keep his sexuality hidden. He kept his head down in class and avoided talking to anyone about his personal life. But his efforts were in vain. It wasn't long before the other kids started picking up on his differences too.
Jungwoo soon found himself the target of vicious bullying. His classmates would call him slurs and mimic his mannerisms, making him feel like an outsider. No matter where he turned, he couldn't escape the torment.
One day, while walking home from school, a group of boys jumped him. They taunted him, shoving him around and calling him derogatory names. Jungwoo tried to fight back, but he was no match against their strength.
Just when he thought things couldn't get any worse, a new student arrived at school. Jaehyun was tall, handsome, and charming. He had an easy smile that made everyone instantly like him. It wasn't long before he became one of the most popular kids in school.
Jungwoo watched from afar as Jaehyun effortlessly made friends with everyone. He admired the way Jaehyun carried himself with confidence and grace, never faltering or doubting himself. Jae's calmness and collectedness always seemed to draw people towards him, and Jungwoo couldn't help but be drawn towards him too.
One day, as Jungwoo was walking through the hallways, he heard the sound of his classmates calling him names again. He tried to walk faster, but he wasn't quick enough. The boys caught up to him and started to push him around.
Just when Jungwoo was about to give up hope, he felt someone grab the bullies and pull them away from him. It was Jaehyun. Without hesitating, he stood between the bullies and Jungwoo, his eyes fixed on the boys.
"Hey, leave him alone," Jaehyun said in a firm tone.
The bullies hesitated. They had never seen anyone stand up to them before, and Jaehyun's confident aura exuded an air of danger that made them reconsider their actions.
With a final snarl, the bullies stalked away. Jungwoo stared at Jaehyun, his heart beating fast. He didn't think he would ever see that level of courage and heroism in person.
"Are you okay?" Jaehyun asked, turning to Jungwoo.
Jungwoo couldn't speak, his emotions choking him. He nodded his head, tears pricking at his eyes.
"Come on, let's get you out of here." Jaehyun led him away, and they didn't speak much after that.
Over the next few weeks, Jungwoo couldn't help but think about that incident. He watched Jaehyun from afar, admiring him for being kind and brave. He started to feel something beyond admiration towards Jaehyun, something that was akin to love.
One day, after maths class, Jaehyun approached him.
"Hey, do you think I could get some help with maths?" he asked, smiling brightly.
Jungwoo was surprised at the request since Jaehyun excelled in all his classes. But he nodded eagerly anyways.
"Of course, I could help," he replied.
That's how they started talking again, meeting every few days to study together. They bonded over their love for history and science fiction.
One day, as they were poring over a particularly difficult calculus problem, Jaehyun leaned in close to Jungwoo. Their faces were mere inches apart. Jungwoo could smell his cologne and feel his breath on his lips.
"Thanks for being such a great tutor," Jaehyun said, looking at Jungwoo intently.
Jungwoo swallowed hard. He felt something shift within him, something he couldn't quite explain. Then, before he knew what he was doing, he leaned in and pressed his lips against Jaehyun's.
The kiss was tentative at first, but it quickly grew more intense. Jungwoo felt a rush of emotions coursing through him, and he knew then that he was in love with Jaehyun.
They broke the kiss, gasping for air. Jaehyun looked at Jungwoo, his eyes shining with an intensity that Jungwoo had never seen before.
"That was amazing," Jaehyun breathed out.
Jungwoo felt like he was walking on clouds. For once, he had experienced something beautiful and genuine, something that didn't involve hiding in shame or fear.
From that day onwards, they became more than just friends. They held hands in the hallways, and Jaehyun would look at Jungwoo with a new kind of tenderness.
It wasn't long before their relationship was made public, and while some people whispered behind their backs, most of their classmates rallied behind them. Many either realized how wrong it was to tease Jungwoo for something he couldn't help or were too scared of the consequences they would receive from Jaehyun if they layed a finger on Jungwoo.
Jungwoo felt like he had finally found the kind of happiness he deserved, and he knew he had Jaehyun to thank for it.
