we was sitting down in the cell I had my head on jj shoulder with my eyes closed as he draws shapes on my leg when I hear the cell open making me jump up to see peterkin
"hales u coming with me first sweetheart" she says making me look at jay shrugging and walking out following her to wherever
"Where are u taking me?" I say and she looks back

"did my mum answer??" I say and peterkin sighs
"I'll take that as a no of course she didn't" I say with a scoff as peterkin opens a door to a room and I go sit down
"you and jj are like little rock's in my shoe, I shake my foot I think I've gotten it out then dang there it is again" she says shaking her head at me
"uh watch where you're stepping?" I say with a smile
"That little rock on the back of my heel makes me want to crush it" she says opening a folder
"Stealing, trespass on protected habitat, felony destruction of property all in the last two weeks no to mention the fights u have been in that i have had to break up and keep quiet about you're on a roll darling" she says making me roll my eyes
"if you think I'm gonna rat anybody out you got the wrong idea I'm no snitch pete everyone knows that" I say as she sits down in front of me.

"The future" she says all dramatic making me roll my eyes
"How you gonna feel six months from now sittin in juvenile prison in wadesboro with your little boyfriend cause if you keep it up miss Freeland that's where your going and even worst for your future if not prison u gonna end up like your damn mama" she says to me making me look away angrily
"Look I don't plan on having a future okay and I'm never gonna be like my mother don't even go there and he isn't my boyfriend for god sake" I say to her with a scoff shaking my head.
"friends with befits boyfriend tomato tomatoe blah blah Look do you know these two?" She says but I ignore her looking at the picture of the people who gave me a bullet graze and trashed jhon b house
"My question was, do you know these two?" She says making me sigh
"they uh they chased us through the marsh shot at us before uh the bullet grazed me and they broke into John B's house other than that I have no idea" I say as she pulls out another picture
"Here's a more recent photo" making me look at the photo of the two men the photo making me gag
"Somebody gaffes them then used them for chum watcha think?" She says as I just look a away not saying anything
"Here's the bad news Freeland whoever killed these two men is still out there and I got a reason to believe their next target is a friend of yours one that's like a brother to you Jhon B and he's the only family u got left Haley" she says making me look down
"You kids don't think your the only ones after the Royal Merchant now do you?" She says making me look up at her confused
"And yeah I know about that too" she says walking away
"Okay Peterkin I can promise you he's not on it anymore" I say and she turns around
"So you say I'm just trying to keep you and him safe cause I know you two kids ain't got nothing but each other and I know if u lose him you will not be able to live without him I'm trying to prevent you from killing your self like last time cause I see the brightness in you Haley you may not see that u have a future but I can you are a lovely girl so I want you to tell your friend to come in and talk to me and let's see if we can get you out of wadesbro or ending up like your mother or even worst dead" she says walking out and slamming the door making me sigh as shoupe then comes in
