12. Confined

As they opened their weary eyes, Y/N glanced up at noticed Starlight staring down at them with concern. His hands rested on their cheeks, tilting their head upwards. "Thank god you're safe..." He murmured, a sense of relief in his tone. They were confused, unsure of what he was on about. The remnants of last night were fading away in their memory, replaced by the current moment. A soft blush formed on their cheeks at his touch.

"What happened?" Y/N asked in a whisper, raising a brow. Starlight sighed deeply, sounding a tinge nervous. Clearing his throat, he moved his hands down to their shoulders, tightly holding onto them.

"Stardust came to kidnap you last night. He was envious and infuriated that you had disobeyed him. The only reason I was able to save you was that I woke up when he accidently banged into the side table and broke a glass vase. Anyways, when I entered the room, I saw you motionless, barely breathing on the floor. It looked like you had red fingerprints engraved into the side of your face, like he tried to stop the flow of oxygen." Their eyes widened at his words in horror, and in shock.

"What happened next?" Y/N asked, in disbelief but also feeling a sense of relief that this male had saved them.

"I managed to trap Stardust in a choke hold and called the police. It felt wrong to harm my own brother, but he was becoming more hostile by the second. He was in his bird form, with his wings burning it's icy hues across the room. Well his form is beside the point. He's  under arrest right now and faced with the charges of murder and kidnapping."

It had taken them almost a few minutes to process what he was saying. All they necessarily understood was that Stardust was currently imprisoned and will probably have to serve a few years and pay a fine. But either way, they felt glad that were safe for now.

To relieve their minds and forget about it, Starlight offered to take them to a park. Despite the fact it had been rainy and windy all day, they enjoyed it, sharing some moments getting soaked and almost falling over. One defining moment was when the wind blew it's force brutally hard and made Y/N stumble backwards into Starlight's arms, to which they shared a small laugh.

"Thanks for today," Y/N smiled softly, sat inside the café, beside him. Starlight couldn't help but smile back, happy they were safe from the wrath of his brother. Yet, a frown crossed over his face. He knew that this safety wouldn't last forever, and that within a short amount of time he will have escaped quite easily. So, he quietly swore under his breath to protect them from him at all costs.

To show their gratitude, they leant towards him and gently kissed his cheek. Starlight felt his pale cheeks burn up at feeling of their lips press against it; he shyly covered his face for moment before shaking his shyness off. "Y-you're welcome..." He mumbled, still deeply blushing, to which Y/N softly chuckled. It was nice seeing someone friendly for once, and at least someone different.

They headed back to his apartment, holding hands as they walked through the calm breeze, having finally calmed down...

[MEANWHILE]

"That preposterous bitch!" Stardust swore under his breath, glaring at the floor. His body squirmed to be free of these tight shackles binding him to wall. "I will find you- and promptly end you! And as for you, Y/N, we'll see..."
