13. Escape

Later when the guards had fell asleep, one of them had coincidentally dropped their keys outside the cell; the perfect opportunity to sneakily escape. Quietly, he transformed into his bird form which instantly broke him free of the chains, gently putting the shackles onto the ground in hopes not to cause any sound. Stardust carefully used his wing to reach and drag the keys towards him, slowly and precisely. When they were near enough, he transformed back and grasped them, hesitantly opening the door as he watched the guard's face contort slightly as he stirred. Seizing the chance, Stardust retransformed back and escaped through the exit, rushing away into the abyss of the night...

[MEANWHILE]

Whilst Y/N was asleep in the apartment, Starlight decided to go on an evening stroll to clear his head. His mind was tormenting him with all sorts of traumatising thoughts of losing Y/N to his devilish brother Stardust. His fiery orange hair fell over his pale complexions as he wandered the roads.

A sharp gasp escaped his lips when a figure shoved him against a wall. The figure pressed a blade against his throat. Peering out the corner of his eye, they widened as he stared fearfully him; Stardust. Somehow he managed to easily escape the confinements of the tight prison shackles and was now on the loose once more.

"Where is my beloved Y/N?" Stardust spoke in a monotone and serious voice, holding it firmly against his brother's throat. Starlight trembled, wincing as a small cut was sliced across the nape of his neck. Unwillingly but forcefully, he uttered the location of them and promised to not ever interfere with Stardust again: but that, was an obvious lie...

They slowly stirred upon hearing the same sliding glass door sound. A shadowy figure approached the bedside, leaning down and pecking their cheek. "Goodnight, my sweet dreamer~" Were the last words they heard uttered until their vision was coated in a thick blanket of black...
