Jeremy's P.O.V.
I stared in shock at the pale figure in my dream. Hope, standing on a grave covered in weeds in a dark meadow. She looked at me with that classic mix of smugness, sadness, gentleness and genuine gladness. All hidden in that smirk and those eyes. I stepped closer, unsure. She didn't move, not even a little, but I heard that beautiful voice that I had missed so much.
Hello older brother.
Her clothes remained exactly the same as when I last saw her, a plaid blue shirt and white tee-shirt underneath that were soaked in blood. Her blue and black striped beanie remained on top of her head with the blond braid tucked to the side and her long curvy bangs creeping from underneath the rim of her beanie. One eye had a jagged scar over it and the other was an emerald green, like my own. She smiled a little, with that crooked smile. I reached out to the shimmering girl who stood before me. She ignored the hand and jumped into a hug. It felt like a shell, hard on the outside but I could tell the hollowness inside. She pulled back,
I can hear your thoughts, and you've missed me, but there is no reason to be sad. "But," I got out, "Why c-couldn't we s-save you?" My eyes watered and my throat started to close.
It was destined. Don't worry, i'll be looking over you guys. She cupped my cheek with one hand, her entire being glowing with a quiet green glow. It was a beautiful healthy green.
Don't cry brother. She ordered, her green eyes staring into my own.
You and Mike are going to have amazing lives. "B-but-" I tried to intervene,
Listen, Vincent will never be a problem in your lives, He was so evil, that there had to be a sacrifice in order to kill him. I realized that, and you have to too.

Tears were now streaming down my face, she wiped them off. A song started to play, growing in volume. Hope looked to the sky, which was a dark grey, and started to sing along, her beautiful voice creating a harmony.
I remember tears streaming down your face when I said i'd never let you go, when all those shadows almost killed your li—ght.
I remember you said 'don't leave me here alone.' But all that's dead and gone and past toni—ght. Her eyes softened, and she gently pulled me down onto the grass.
Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You'll be alright, no-one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I will be safe and so—-und. I started to feel sleepy, and she laid my head in the grass, calmly sitting beside me. She repeated the verse.
Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You'll be alright, no-one can hurt you now. Come morning light, you and I will be safe and so—-und. The entire time she stroked my hair with her bandaged hand, the other one remained behind her back. She looked into my eyes. After realizing she was singing me a lullaby, I hugged her one last time and closed my eyes peacefully. The song quietly repeated itself in my head.
Just close your eyes, You'll be alright, come morning light, you and I will be safe and so—-und.
Goodbye.. Jeremy.. my brother.
~~~~End of Dream~~~~
I opened my eyes slowly to the beige wall in front of me. The window let in the morning sunlight that shone with specks of dust floating peacefully in the air. The light illuminated the rest of the room in streaks of golden warmth, and I noticed the weight that usually was on the other side of the bed was gone. I looked up to see that the door was opened slightly, with the light from the other windows in the house shining through the crack. I pulled off the heavy blue comforter and walked slowly the the kitchen, my muscles aching from the past nights events. When I entered the kitchen I smiled slightly at the view of Mike sitting on the couch with a mug of coffee. He was wearing a dark grey shirt and blue jeans. I walked over silently and lightly sat beside him. He looked over at me with those amazing blue eyes, and draped an arm around my shoulders. "Did she visit you Jere?" He asked me quietly, I knew exactly what he was talking about. "Y-Yes, w-what did s-she say t-to you?" I answered with another question. He looked thoughtful for a moment. "She showed me what would've happened if I tried to save her, it would have killed you." I looked down, so it was fate for someone to die along with purple guy. "Then she told us to continue our lives no matter what happened." He continued, looking at me directly now. "And she told me that she wanted to be cremated, and that we scatter her ashes in the tree house... and down BB's throat." I laughed quietly. Of course she did. "Finally she told me that she will always be watching over us, and if she catches us moping she will give us a ghost-slap... however that works." I knew it was true. She would always look after us, even in death. He looked at me with curiosity in his eyes. "What did she tell you Jere?" I thought back to my dream. "S-She t-told me that it was d-destiny for h-her t-to d-d-die that night. Then s-she s-sung a song f-for me t-to sleep." Mike smiled, a real smile. "Could you sing the song Jere?" He asked me with all seriousness. I felt unsure, but there was a small voice telling me to go with it. "I-I could s-sing the c-chorus if you'd l-like." He nodded and watched me intently. Shakily I started the song, slowly losing my stutter the words. Somewhere a sweet melody could be heard quietly echoing me. "Just close your eyes, the sun is going down. You'll be alright, no-one can hurt you now. The morning light, you and I will be safe and so—-und." I opened my eyes to see his shining in joy. He grinned and enveloped me in a hug. "Did you hear her?" He whispered quietly. I nodded and smiled. I pulled back from the hug and got up, my brown tussled hair fell in front of my eye and I went to the kitchen. Suddenly a ring broke the silence, we both looked at the house phone and Mike got up to answer it. "Schmidt residence." A voice on the other side was undecipherable but it seemed to make Mike angry. "NO! I NEVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN. I'VE MOVED FORWARD AND YOU SHOULD AS WELL." He hung up the phone with a slam. "You a-alright M-Mike?" His anger scared me, it reminded me of my father. He looked at me and quickly calmed down, his face showing concern as he noticed my fear. "Yes Jeremy, don't get yourself worked up over it. Just a girl that I used to date." "Doll?" I asked, wondering why she would be calling now. He looked surprised that I remembered her. But as He was going to say something there was a loud boom at the front door. As well as a man yelling. I knew that voice all too well and my eyes widened in horror. He's back. Mike looked at me, then to the door. He marched over and swung it open to almost being barreled over by the angry drunk. How did he find us?! He looked to me, his eyes filled with rage. "YOU DID THIS!" He ran over to me as I stood there, frozen. I had no reaction until I felt a massive ball of pain explode in my jaw and I flew back. "I JUST GOT THE CALL. HOPE WAS ALIVE AND YOU KILLED HER!" I couldn't think straight as my body reacted faster than my brain, telling me to run and hide. A sudden tightness around my neck constricted my breathing, he pulled back on my shirt and yanked me over to the living room. Mike was out cold on the floor. No, he hurt Mike. I tried to get up and help him but my father- if I could even call him that, stood in the way. "YOU LET HER DIE! YOU LET HER GET SHOT AND KILLED!" Indignation flowed through my veins. "I DID E-EVERYTHING I-I COULD TO SAVE HER." He punched me again, and went to stomp on my face when he was suddenly yanked back. Mike? I noticed he was still out on the floor to my left, then what- an invisible force collided with him as the drunk frantically tried to escape the grasp of whatever was holding him.
