"But is there a reason you don't want to? If you're having a hard time focusing in class i can work with the school to get you a private room to study in. We just need to know how to help you Carson."

Carson sighed. She didn't have any problems focusing, she was fine.

Maybe that was the problem.. Carson was always fine. Even if she wasn't, she was.

"No i can focus fine. Look you want to know the real reason why i don't do the stupid class assignments?"

"I do."

"It's because its boring! Alright? Now stop asking!"

As soon as she raised her voice she regretted it. The girl looked at her father apologetically. She hadn't even meant to yell. He was just asking so many questions and Carson couldn't take it. It wasn't even true.. well maybe it sort of was but it wasn't what she meant to say.

In honesty Carson wanted to explain everything. She wanted to explain how she didn't understand why but for some reason she didn't want to do the work. In her mind she knew she was sabotaging herself. She knew that was exactly what she was doing. But Carson didn't care. She wanted to die and it was hard to explain that part too.

If you asked her Carson would say she did. But if you asked if she was happy she would also say she was. And its true! Carson is happy but there is a part of her that she buried deep down that wished she had died with the Morrison's, wished she had been killed by Jacob Banks before the police got there. It was a very very sick part of her and she knew that but Carson didn't have the will to get help.

Although maybe there was a more.. deeper part to the story.

Of course the school work was also just boring. So thats what she'd stick to saying.

Carson snapped out of it when she felt someone tap her on the shoulder

She looked over and saw Phil staring at her with concern written all over his face

"Sorry, what?"

"I asked if you were alright? You've been staring at the couch for the past five minutes."

Carson looked at Phil confused. Had it really been five minutes? Surely she hadn't been in her head for five minutes. But when she looked at the clock she realized that Phil was right.

"Oh. Yeah i'm alright dad."

The way Phil looked at her showed he didn't believe her at all. However the man said nothing more, instead just listening when Carson spoke once again. Just much quieter this time.

"Sorry for yelling.."

Both nodded their heads and Eret starting speaking

"Sometimes our emotions get to much for us to handle. You're young, its okay not to know how to deal with that yet."

Carson nodded slightly and glanced at Phil, but she quickly turned back to the photos on the table. Phil looked at the pictures and picked one up. It was one of just Carson, she was at the bottom of a slide smiling.

He looked at the girl and held out the photo, silently asking for the story. Carson took the picture and nodded her head.

"It was taken the same day as the picnic one. Before Mr. Morrison got there i was playing in the sandbox and on the playground. I had been so afraid to go down the slides because John never took me to parks. That was the first time i ever went down one alone."

"Its an adorable photo."

Phil said as he lightly put an arm around Carsons shoulder. Eret just watched the two, they stayed like that for a few minutes before Eret once again broke the silence.
