-Jason-
When I smelled blood, I at first thought it was an animal... but as I ran towards the smell... I heard crying... and screaming.... Crap! (not the exact word I thought, but you know)
Skylar shot past me, growling.
Once I caught up to Skylar, I saw the rouge we'd been tracking for weeks, but before she could even move, I had tackled the rogue that had been hunting in our territory for about a month, he snarled at me as I threw him to the ground and then bit down hard on his back leg, which he yelped out in pain, and then everything went red as I released all my rage out on the rouge.
But when I stepped back and turned... I saw the blood... and the blonde hair.
My heart broke when I saw Clare, I whimpered and whined as I walked over to her. She looked at me, I licked her cheek, right before she blacked out.
Her heart was slowing down, my first thought was getting her to David, the pack medic, but I ended up shifting and carrying her back to the house, myself, running up to her room, I put her on her bed, Skylar bolted in and went into the bathroom and ran a hand towel under hot water.
I really did not care if she were my alpha's daughter, I tore her jeans pant leg open, so Skylar could clean out the wound... once she did that and she carefully cut the pant leg off above the wound, I wrapped it in surgical tape and a dry towel over it.
Sighing, I brushed a strand of gold hair from her pale, innocent face, she was why I joined Bryan's pack, not only were the Smith's known for being powerful Alphas and Lunas, but because they were the main Pureblood line... all the females were and had been purebloods.
The girl I cared about was one... I was mates with a Smith pureblood... there are very few who can say they knew one well enough.

(A little while later)
I woke up in my bed with Jason and David, another werewolf, on the right side of my bed.
"You're going to be in a lot of pain, Clare," David said quickly as he set a bottle of pills on my nightstand. He left when Jason sat down on the edge of my bed. I glanced at the pills and sighed, David may be the doctor of the pack, but he was not the talkative kind that explained WHY I'd be in pain, he must have missed that course in collage, if he even went to college.
"What were you thinking?" Jason asked in a serious tone, looking at me, as he seemed to be holding back from lecturing me or something.
"I don't know." I looked away from him.
"You could have been killed!"
"Well, I didn't know that there was a rogue wolf out there!" I said, waving my hands in exasperation.
"But you were told not to follow us," he said, annoyed, watching me, slowly pull myself up, so I was sitting in bed.
"I know, and I wasn't. I was heading toward the lake," I lied, playing with the edge of the comforter.
"Yeah, sure." He rolled his eyes.
"Hey, at least I'm alive, ok?" I said.
He was silent, though, which made me even more nervous than when he had been talking.
"What?" I asked, worried by the silence.
"You were bitten and there is venom in you, so apparently you got your wish as long as you survive the shift," he muttered.
