I closed the laptop and put it on the foot of my bed. I listened for footsteps, but none came. I walked to the door, looked out into the hallway, and grabbed my sweatshirt that was on the floor by my feet. When I walked to the railing and looked down, my parents and Jason were talking in hushed voices.

I silently walked downstairs.

"Hey, honey." Mom said silencing my dad and Jason.

"What were you guys talking about?" I asked sitting cross legged next to Jason.

"Just pack stuff... mostly border stuff." Dad shrugged, I knew they were not tell me something... this is where I got to play bad cop AND good cop.

"Well, can I listen? I mean, I'd technically, a part of the pack, right?" I said.

"Of course, but you'll probably think it's boring." Mom said hesitantly.

"Ok... just tell me, already, I'll figure it out somehow, you know that." I sighed, crossing my arms over my chest.

"Fine... Jason, why don't you tell her." Dad sighed; Jason nodded.

"There's another pack... they've been circling our territory, for a while now, since that rouge entered... we've thought the rouge, the one that bit you, was a spy... the leader of the pack, is a man named Drake, he's been trying to build a pack that could take on your parent's..." he explained.

"But can't you just fight them or tell them it's your lands?" I said slightly confused.

"With normal people, it's just about your property, being your property, but with wolves, you trespass on a pack's lands and it's seen as a threat... and if it's a another pack on your lands, that's a sign of challenging or like a war." Dad said.

"Oh..." I muttered.

"Drake's been hunting for pureblood's as well... like your mother and you, even... he believes that he can find a way to make himself a pureblood... which is impossible, because it's not like magic that you can steal, it's magic that's old and in your blood, your DNA, the only way to make another pureblood is if you had a daughter," dad explained.

"Which that won't happen for a while." I said, my mom smiled faintly. But the look in her eyes, made me nervous, if this Drake guy wanted himself or to make himself his own pureblood, than he'd need to get me or my mom, which my mom was a pack leader, she couldn't be touched, right?... and Jason seems persistent on being at my side like for every second of every hour of the day.

It was the next day, which meant I had 13 days left till the shift. I was walking along the lake edge and looking at the water. It was so clear and normal... unlike me, a teenage girl that had venom in her that would either kill her or permanently turn her into a werewolf in 13 days.

For some reason, I thought of my one year at a real elementary school, it had been 6th grade, I was always horrid at PE, but somehow, I got through it.

Ok, I need to start training or something, cause if I don't, I might as well be useless to the pack, I thought to myself, it was true, I was fit enough to get by, but I wasn't strong enough to win a fight, I thought as I headed toward the field where some of the pack was training, wolves trained a lot, cause they had A LOT of energy and emotion to get out. I saw Megan and Ethan, another wolf, he was new in the pack, but not as a wolf.

"Hey, what are you doing?" I asked them.

"Fighting." Ethan said flatly, I knew that Ethan did not like me, probably, because I was a total distraction for him and his "trainer", Meagan, who is one of my closest friends.
