"Okay, it should now work again." Yeosang said after nearly two hours spent making sure that the power that had previously powered the speakers and thus been pulled away from the radio station was back on his monitors. As soon as they heard the good news, the six other boys, who - after Yeosang had banished them from the desk for annoying and distracting him - had spent the entire last two hours on the floor, bored and - of course - worried, scrambled to their feet. Wooyoung was the first to stand next to Yeosang, his eyes nervously directed at the monitors.
"Can you rewind or something?" Mingi asked and Yeosang nodded.
"I should. The cameras have memory cards."
"Means we can see everything they recorded." Hongjoong concluded. Yeosang hesitated to confirm this.
"Assuming the memory card didn't run out before we lost San. The battery could have run out for some of them or there was a malfunction-"
"Just look for him." Wooyoung interrupted his friend's doom and gloom. He didn't even want to hear all that. He wanted, had to, believe that they would find San.
"Then let's see." The mint-haired man started typing on the keyboard until one of the monitors closed and returned to the home screen.
"What are you doing?" Seonghwa asked, confused.
"I can't just rewind the video. I have to open the recording first and if I do that, the camera can't continue running." Mingi and Hongjoong looked at the eldest with amusement.
"You could have thought of that yourself." Hongjoong said with a cheeky smile on his face and Seonghwa blushed slightly with excitement.
"I'm just not much of a technician." He pouted when Yeosang finally opened the file in which the camera recordings were saved. He sighed. There were so many...
"What is it?" Wooyoung asked, confused, when Yeosang hesitated and did not start searching immediately, as Wooyoung had wished.
"We have installed 28 cameras along the entire route from the school to the last loudspeaker." He said. The younger one frowned.
"So what?"
"I can't search them all, we would be sitting here for hours."
"And what do you want to do now?" Asked Jongho, who was standing quite far away and watching the whole thing from a distance. Yeosang thought about it.
"First I'll look at which files are the ones with the cameras on the main street between the school and Wooyoung's loudspeaker." He finally said.
"San will be visible somewhere there." Before he clicked on the first file, which was labeled with the street name where the school was, he turned to his friends and put on a serious face.
"Can you maybe give me a little more space?" He grumbled. Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho and Mingi hesitantly moved away. Jongho, who was already far enough away, just stayed where he was. He had already thought that Yeosang would send the others away, which is why he had kept his distance. He knew that Yeosang needed his space when he had to concentrate. Wooyoung was the only one who stubbornly stood next to Yeosang, his eyes fixed on the monitor and clearly not willing to move even a meter away. Yeosang sighed in frustration.
"I guess four eyes see more than two..." he said. Then he turned on the video. The entire footage from each camera was 8 hours long. This was gonna be fun...
After almost two hours of Wooyoung and Yeosang doing nothing but scrolling through the video material, Wooyoung had to turn away. He squinted and rubbed his forehead.
"Everything okay with you, woo?" Hongjoong asked worriedly, sitting on the floor with the others, frustrated, looking at the younger one. Wooyoung nodded, still grimacing.
