»One, two, three-«
»Count slower! How are we supposed to hide as fast as you count!« Yeosang groaned in annoyance and rolled his eyes.
»It's supposed to be a challenge!» he called out to the youngest of the group, eyes still closed, before he started counting again, this time more slowly.
»One... Two...« Hongjoong, sitting at the edge of the tennis court, hiding from the sun in the shade, watched the boys with amusement. He shook his head with a smile.
»You are real children!« he exclaimed. While Yeosang kept counting slowly, Yunho, Jongho, San, Mingi, and Wooyoung set out to find a hidden one. They had been doing this for almost half an hour and every time Yeosang had to search because he just couldn't find anyone. There weren't any particularly good hiding spots in this corner of town. After all, they were playing on a tennis court. So in order to win against Yeosang, they looked for a place to hide at the building complex and had already hidden in the weirdest places - for example in a dumpster.
»Seven... Eight...« Wooyoung ran away from Yeosang, off the tennis court, and ran for the nearest door the building complex could offer. He chose the blue building on the right side of the tennis court, quietly opened the door and hid in the building's dark hallway. To improve his hiding place he closed the door. Darkness enveloped the black-haired man and he covered his mouth so Yeosang outside - who had already counted to ten and was starting to search - didn't hear him giggle.
»Where are you?« Yeosang asked in a cheeky tone, and Wooyoung heard that the mint-haired one was closer to his hiding place than he would have liked. Smirking under his hand, he backed a little further down the dark hallway.
»Squeak Piggy Squeak!«
»Fuck.« whispered Wooyoung, hearing the call from outside.
»Squeak.« Wooyoung's heart stopped for a moment and he froze. It wasn't him. He was about to say it, but he didn't. The voice had come from behind him and sounded cool and lifeless. Slowly, holding his breath, he turned around. Ahead lay the pitch black darkness of the dark hallway, but Wooyoung sensed someone was there. He felt the cold breath of someone standing very close in front of Wooyoung hit his face. Wooyoung was silent and didn't move. He was 100% sure he'd walked into that hallway alone. Nobody else should have hidden here with him..
»Squeak piggy Squeak!« Yeosang suddenly shouted again and Wooyoung got goosebumps.
»Squeak.« It was more of a whisper, but Wooyoung heard the cold voice again. she was so close He had the feeling that if he reached out now, he would be able to grab the owner of that cold voice.
»Who's there?« the black-haired boy asked, scared, staring straight ahead. He felt that he was looking into two eyes. He just knew. He couldn't see her, but he knew he was being looked at and the look gave him icy goosebumps.
»Come on.« his counterpart suddenly whispered to him. It sounded like the other's voice was right next to Wooyoung's ear, causing him to back away, banging on the door and giving a little squeak of shock.
»What?« he asked confused. The door was pushed open a tiny crack and a small beam of light shone down the gloomy hallway, making it easy to see the outline of the person who was in the hallway. He was as tall as Wooyoung, dressed all in black. A cold expression crossed the person's face and Wooyoung knew immediately who he was looking at.
»It's you again.« he said to his doppelganger, who wasn't wearing a mask and was therefore easy for Wooyoung to recognize. Slowly, the Halateez reached out in front of him and offered it to Wooyoung.
»Come on.« Wooyoung stared nervously at the hand, which was encased in a black leather glove. What would happen if he grabbed her. Where would he be led if he followed the Halateez? He didn't know what to do. He could have shouted for help, but something inside him told him that wasn't necessary. Almost as if he could trust the Halateez in front of him. He hesitated for a moment and raised his hand. He carefully grasped the outstretched hand in front of him and shuddered when he felt how ice cold it felt. The hair on the back of his neck stood up and he shook himself.
