“What do you mean they tried to kill you?!” Hongjoong looked at Yeosang in shock. After Yeosang had regained his strength, enough to stand up and walk, he and the other four boys had walked back through the corridor to the room where Hongjoong, Seonghwa and Yunho were already waiting nervously. Wooyoung and Mingi immediately told them, how they found Yeosang trapped in that glass box, about the Halateez that was there and how Yeosang almost suffocated in that box. Hongjoong could hardly believe what the boys told him. He had assumed that the Halateez were dangerous and wanted to kill them, but in such a cruel way?
“They are a bunch of psychos.” San said and Mingi nodded in agreement.
“If it wasn’t for muscle man here,” he proudly patted Jongho shoulders.
“aggressively smashing the glass, Yeosang would probably be dead now.” Jongho blushed slightly.
“I wasn’t aggressive.” He said, but Hongjoong shook his head.
“Doesn’t matter. You saved Yeosang. Well done.” Hongjoong took a deep breath and ran his hand through his hair.
“We have to find this fucking trumpet and get out of here.” He said, when Yeosang suddenly remembered something.
“Actually, I think I saw it.” The others looked at him in surprise.
“You did? When?” Mingi asked and Yeosang shook his head, trying to remember exactly.
“It was before you found me.” He said.
“The Halateez came through a door on the other side of the room. It was bright and in there, displayed on a pedestal, I saw a trumpet before he closed the door again.”
“Why didn’t you say that earlier?” Jongho asked when Yeosang finished speaking, confused that he didn’t say something right away before they went back, but Yeosang just shrugged.
“It just occurred to me. I haven’t been thinking much about the stupid trumpet in the last twenty minutes.” Jongho nodded understanding.
“Fair enough.”
“At least we now know where it is.” San said and Hongjoong nodded.
“Just leaves the question if it’s safe to go there. If the Halateez came from that room where the trumpet is, maybe he disappeared back into it.”
“And could still be there.” Seonghwa added, getting up from the floor.
“Lets go.” Confused, Hongjoong turned to look at Seonghwa.
“Didn’t you just hear your own words?” He asked and Seonghwa sighed.
“I know what I said. But it’s too dangerous to stay here, so we have to do something!”
“Seonghwa is right.” San said and put a hand on Yeosangs shoulder.
“We already almost lost someone. We can’t risk it happening again by waiting any longer.” Somewhat hesitantly, Hongjoong turned to Seonghwa again.
“How’s your ankle?” Seonghwa looked down to his ankle and tried moving it. Pain like the snake biting him all over again was shooting through his leg and up to his chest, making him flinch, but he pulled himself together and just shrugged it off.
“I’ll be fine. Now lets go.” Without further hesitation, the eight boys set off. They left the bright room behind and marched as a group through the dark corridors. To make the path easier for Seonghwa, they did not run fast, but had him run at the front with Yeosang so that they could match his pace while following him. Yeosang lead them through the corridor, until they arrived back in the big room. For a brief moment he looked at the shattered glass on the floor, some blood stained from Wooyoung slamming his fists against the glass over and over again. The fact, that he could’ve died here, really scared him. He had only a vague memory of the moment the Halateez had taken him. He had quietly crept up on Yeosang from behind while he was listening to Mingi explain his thoughts about Wooyoung when the Halateez had banged his head against the wall, which caused him to lose consciousness. He hadn’t seen him and later when he woke up, locked inside the glass box, he was so scared like never before. After all the arguments and doubts Yeosang had brought to the others, he wasn’t sure if they would even care to look for him. Especially Wooyoung and Hongjoong. Then seeing Wooyoung coming in to help, even trying to fight the Halateez and giving his all, even injuring himself to get Yesoang out of the glass box, even if without success, had really touched Yeosang’s heart. Even though Yeosang had treated him so coldly before, he still cared so much and even cried when he knew Yeosang was alright. A hand on Yeosang’s shoulder finally pulled him out of his thoughts and he took his eyes off the broken glass. It was Wooyoung, who had carefully placed a hand on his shoulder and was looking at him invitingly, while the others had already walked ahead to the door, which was standing wide open, and were waiting.
