The bus ride is a lot more comfortable and pleasant than the parade float and the illusion together. Everyone had their own seat on the bus and the seats were so comfortable that Hongjoong even fell asleep sitting up, sleeping through the first two hours of the ride. Yunho was back in the driver's seat, and music played non-stop after he discovered there was a CD on the radio. That was the end of Hongjoong's nap. The seven guys sang along loudly to the songs that were playing and they found that they actually could all sing really well. However, none of them could compair to Jongho. He even trumped the original singer when a very vocal-heavy song was playing. Wooyoung and Yeosang, who were at the back of the bus, enjoyed listening to Jongho sing, and Seonghwa relaxedly closed his eyes. He not only enjoyed Jongho's angelic voice but the general situation. The relaxed and fun atmosphere on the bus delighted the eldest. That's the way he always wanted it. After a total of three and a half hours of driving, they had left the pretty grassy landscape behind and were now driving through a sandy wasteland area. All around them were old factories that didn't seem to have been touched in years, and about ten kilometers ahead of them rose a town at the end of the country road. This time it actually looked like a real city. The smallest house was about seven floors high and all the others towered high into the sky. The sun hardly showed up over this city at all. Dense dark clouds covered the sky and a sandy gust of wind spoiled Yunho's view of the road. Hongjoong looked skeptically through the front window of the bus.

»Well, I didn't think we'd find a less comfortable place then the desert.« Yunho said and agreed.

»Looks like a town from a zombie series. Just sandier.« the wind blew the reddish-brown sand across the road and against the car's windows. The scratchy sound of the small grains of sand on the glass was unpleasant in the ears and Seonghwa grimaced.

»Can we just drive past here?« he asked, referring to the apocalyptic city ahead, but Yunho shook his head.

»The road takes us straight into the city. Driving past won't work.«

»What if we just drive through and look for something else?«

»We should be content with what we get.« Hongjoong said, and Seonghwa sighed in frustration.

»It's hard to be content with a ghost town.« Yunho pulled the bus to the side of the road on the outskirts of town, where the wind was a little calmer, next to the first building, and turned off the engine. Annoyed and dissatisfied with their new 'home', the boys got up from their seats.

»It's probably only for a few days anyway.« Hongjoong tried to cheer up the boys, but it didn't help.

»I would like a nice place to live for a period of time from now until I die.« Yeosang grumbled, followed by Wooyoung's grunt of agreement. Hongjoong just sighed and the group exited the bus. As soon as they were outside on the street, Jongho pinched his nose in disgust and grimaced.

»Wow, none of the shitholes we've been in have ever smelled that bad.« he said and actually Hongjoong had to agree with him. The pungent smell of the big city, mixed with a somehow chemical stench, got into his nostrils and he had the feeling that his nasal nerves were being etched away.

»Whoa, it stinks so bad in here.« Yunho complained when he was the last one to climb out of the bus and Seonghwa looked around in disgust.

»What did we take a shower for?« Yeosang pouted.

»I want to go back to the moldy pool.«

»Me too.« Jongho agreed. Hongjoong shook his head.

»Let's have a look around first. Maybe we can find a comfortable spot.« he suggested. Yeosang just sighed.
