Chapter 11

"I see you've met Eve, I was hoping you'd meet", I hear Zach's voice from behind me as I look back at him smiling.

I look back to the mother curiously, "Does Eve have tourette's syndrome?".

"Yes she does. Plus she's been ecstatic ever since she found out our future Luna, you, are just like her. She gets bullied in school because of her tics, the other kids say she's weak because of them but having you as our Luna with the same issues, it's life changing for her", she wipes a few tears away and I can't help but need to do the same.

I bend down so that I'm at eye level with Eve, "How about you just call me Lucy and you can tell all of those bullies that you're friends with the Luna, how does that sound Eve?".

She jumps around excitedly, "That would be amazing, thank you Lucy!".

I pull her into a tight hug and she does the same. We say our goodbyes as I walk with Zach.

"I knew you'd be amazing with kids", he smiles proudly as I roll my eyes.

He turns around and walks backwards in front of me, "Remember tomorrow we have school so no sleeping in, sadly".

I nod in agreement, "Yeah and I have to change my bus route to pick me up here".

He runs a hand through his hair and smiles, "Not necessarily".

I raise an eyebrow at him to which he chuckles, "You're my passenger princess and the future Luna, you think I'm going to let you ride the bus? I'll be taking you to school and you'll be staying with me all day, every day".

I roll my eyes at him as he grabs my hand and pulls me along towards his room. We get within eyesight of the room when we're stopped by a woman. She seems to be about our age and I think I've seen her at school before.

"Zachy-Poo what are you doing with this whore? I was here waiting for you lastnight and you never showed up", she pouts sadly and I growl lowly taking a step towards her at the thought of someone else having a nickname for him.

He looks at her annoyed, "Don't call her that Rose and don't pretend I wanted to see you".

I just look between them not knowing what's going on or what to say.

"Oh come on Zachy what about all those nights we spent together. Plus what happened to us getting mated and me being your Luna", I look up at him hesitantly and see him looking down at me sadly.

"That's true?", regret swirls through his eyes as I let go of his hand and step back.

He goes to grab for my arm but I push him away and run. I hear him mind link me to come back but I put up a mental wall and shift. My wolf is pure white with hazel eyes and I'm fairly fast for just a normal werewolf. I run through the woods and past some of the warriors on patrol. I feel the pack bond becomes light and I know that I've passed the border. I have to be careful for rogues but no one will think to look for me here and the mind link won't go through outside of the border. I stop at a beautiful waterfall and climb to the top, still in wolf form. I unshift and sit in the warm water, the current slightly pushing against me. I know that if Zach slept with her it was before I found out he's my mate or else I'd feel it. It's not considered cheating when we still aren't even dating and especially weren't at the time of that but it still hurts. I hear the water splashing down the stream as I turn my attention towards the sound. I see a man with long red hair and hazel-ish orange eyes as he looks at me. Thank the goddesses the current blocks his view of my body.

"Hello there ma'am", I nod in greeting.

I study him carefully trying to figure out if he's from my pack or if he's a rogue.

"You're from the Night Fall pack yeah?", he smiles happily.

"Indeed I am. You're Lucy correct?", I tilt my head in confusion.

"How do you know my name?", he chuckles and looks at me as if I'm insane.

"You are the future Luna, it's hard not to know who you are", I nod and mentally face palm myself.

We get to know each other pretty well but I notice he tends to shy away from questions about his family and friends as well as where he lives. I know it's wrong since I have a mate but I can't help but feel attracted to him. I say my goodbyes and head back to the pack house, knowing Zach is probably searching everywhere for me. I go straight to his room and smell the air which immediately tells me he's not nearby. I go in and sit on the bed. I know no matter what I'll have to forgive Zach, he's my mate. I lay there for a few minutes before hearing the door open. I don't even look up as his scent fills the room and I know it's him.

"Lucy..", he begins speaking and I feel the bed move behind me. I hum in response as I feel him wrap his arm around me from behind.

"Can I please explain everything?", I nod softly waiting for the explanation.

"Remember how I was going from school to school every month trying to find my mate? Hell I even went to other packs for school. Over time, my mother gave up on me finding my mate so she set me up with Rose. She made me spend every day with her, even made me sleep in the same room as her. She tried forcing me to mate with her"
