Broken Luna

Chapter 6

I quickly stand against the wall, behind a pillar. The pack member walks past without noticing me so I stay still until he's out of sight. I let go off the breath I had been holding and continue my journey down the hall. I notice the door at the end of the hall has a sign next to it that reads "Library". Perfect. I slowly open the door and walk in, luckily no one else is crazy enough to be visiting the library at this time. I notice one part that's labeled restricted so I try opening the door and it's unlocked. I slowly open the door and notice a guard sitting in a chair, asleep. I sneak past him and tip toe down the spiral staircase. This place is beautiful and I'd love to come back during the day to see it all lit up. I go to the medical section and turn on my flashlight as I begin sifting through some of the papers. After what feels like forever but was probably only a half hour, I find a paper about wolfsbane having healing effects. It says when mixed with werewolf and wolf blood, wolfsbane can have healing benefits. In some cases it has even been able to resurrect werewolves that have previously died in battle. It's not a guarantee but it's a chance that I'm willing to take for him. I manage to sneak out of the library without getting caught so I begin my search for the medical center. Once I find it, I walk in and grab a vial of wolfsbane as well as some syringes. I put them in my bag and quickly leave the pack house. I ensure the guard that I had spoken with Zach and he is was doing well. Once back to my house I grab a cup before running back to my room. I tell Lucian the plan and quickly get to work by using a syringe to extract some of my blood.

I put it in the cup before turning to Lucian, "Ready?".

He nods and mind links back, "As ready as I'll ever be".

I use a different syringe to extract some of his blood before putting it in the cup as well. This better be correct, he doesn't need any diseases from mixing our blood together. I empty the vial of wolfsbane into the cup and rotate the cup until it's mixed thoroughly. I then take a new syringe and fill it with the mixture before slowly injecting it into Lucian's vein. We sit there for a few minutes waiting to see if something will happen.

"Do you feel any different?", I look over his body that still seems the same.

He mind links back to me, "Yes, I feel stronger. I feel changed".

"Try to shift, it may be painful but I'm right here", he nods and I smile at him.

He stands there in wolf form for a few moments before wincing and laying down in pain. I rub his back gently as he shifts into his human form. I smile as he looks up at me. He stands up, I now realize he is fully naked as I throw him a pair of shorts. He quickly puts them on before pulling me into his arms hugging me tightly.

"Thank you so much. I know how hard it was to do that and you did it for me.", he pulls away smiling.

"You're welcome and I'd do anything to make you happy. Though speaking of being here for eachother, what are we going to do now? You were my service animal and now you're a werewolf, you can't be here for me anymore", I frown at the thought as he lays his hand on my shoulder reassuringly.

"I'll still be here for you anytime you need me and I'll stay in wolf form when we're at school. If you need me while I'm in this form I can comfort you like this or I can shift for you. I'm not going to let anything happen to you Lucy. If you want though you can still get a new service dog", I just nod as I'm unsure what to do yet.

All of a sudden, a sharp pain shoots through my chest that almost brings me to my knees. We lay in my bed and he holds me close as I wince from pain. I've always thought of him as either my brother or my son so I don't see this as weird but I could see why some would. After awhile the pain stops and I fall asleep in his arms. We're waken up by the slamming of my bedroom door. I quickly sit up as I see a fuming Zach standing in my door way, his eyes on Lucian.

"Why the fuck is my mate in bed with some random douche bag", I sit in front of Lucian protectively.

"I can explain please just calm down", he looks at me as his eyes soften but it's quickly blinked away and replaced with rage.

I tell him everything that happened as well as everything I did. He scolds me for breaking into the pack house before walking out and slamming the door behind him. My eyes tear up as I burry my face in my knees. The feeling of electricity begins shooting through my body as my tics begin taking over. I end up having a tic attack but luckily don't break any bones since Lucian comforts me. He holds me close to prevent me from hurting myself, still in human form. I know due to the mate bond Zach can feel it but he's upset with me, he won't come back. Luckily it's Saturday so I won't be going to school and having to see him while he's pissed off at me. Once my tic attack stops, I check the time and see it's only ten o'clock in the morning. I stand up to turn to Lucian but am stopped in my tracks by a small knocking on my door.
