Hello everyone, I didn't expect to have to write this but here I am. It's come to my attention that this book has been pretty spread out when it comes to certain scenes and timing. It's one of those slow burn type of books, which usually wouldn't be a problem BUT I've noticed the maximum amount of chapters I've seen in a book was thirty-seven. At the rate it's going now, this could leak into the forties which is a huge concern to me.
On top of this, It has also come to my attention that the average word count for adult novels is 50-100k words! Back when I first started writing, I didn't pay attention to my word count so it was all over the place. I'm talking like chapter four would have six hundred words but chapter five would only have two hundred, it was bad. I ended up getting offered to post my books elsewhere and when looking into this, their rule was to have AT LEAST one thousand words in each chapter. So, with that being said I've just been writing chapters with roughly eleven hundred words each. The thing is, even if I write a book with forty chapters and a thousand words each chapter, that's not even fifty-thousand words.
Now obviously since I've already been writing all of my books this way for a year or two, I can't just redo them all. Also, I can't just swap up on you all mid-book because that just seems wrong and inconvenient for you. Though, a solution I've come to is that I am going to slowly make the next few chapters longer as we go on so that it hopefully doesn't end up having a ton of chapters.
With that being said though, after this book is finished you will see that my future ones will have longer chapters but a lot less of them in total. My goal for my future novels is to do around twenty chapters for each novel, with about three-thousand words in each chapter (roughly 60k words).
I do have some fanfiction type of stories in mind to bring in some people with similar yet different interests that may enjoy my novels. But with the new word and chapter goal per story, I don't know how well that will apply to a fanfiction novel. I've seen a fanfiction with thirty-forty chapters and a SIX HOUR read time but I don't know if my writing will ever get to that high of a read time. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a long and interesting novel posted for my readers but I don't know if I'm truly capable of sitting down and writing six hours worth of words within a few months and NOT get bored of the novel that I'm doing. I will try my absolute hardest to make it long and enjoyable for you all but I can't promise it's going to be longer than any of my other novels I've done. I've been doing soo much research on all the movies and books for it so I should have everything I need for it as well as I've started writing some of one of the fanfics but as I said before, It will not be posted for awhile.
As of right now here is the current novel schedule:
January 28th 2024, 8:00 AM EST - Broken Luna Chapter 22 (Posted by the time this is up)
February 4th 2024, 8:00 AM EST- Broken Luna Chapter 23
Plan to finish Broken Luna entirely by March (Now completed 2/6/2024)
When Broken Luna is done, Second Chances? The Sequel will begin.
After Second Chances? is done, a special fanfiction will begin.
There is some other novels I have begun but they will not be until after those listed above. Please let me know what you think about having longer chapters and all so I know if you guys will enjoy it! I hope you all have a great rest of your day or night and I look forward to working on this story some more!
Update: The next few chapters may seem a bit rushed but I am going to try finishing this book as soon as possible, meaning I'll probably be posting a few chapters within the next few days. Hopefully, I'll be finishing it entirely within the next week. I came up with another really good idea for a fanfic/crossover type of book and it will more than likely be super long so I would like to start writing it as soon as possible. I know I said I'd post the sequel for Second Chances next but, I may take a few weeks off of posting after this story so that I can write ahead for it. My thoughts are that if I write ahead for Second Chances, as I'm posting it I can work on the fanfic and begin posting it as well.
