"I think we broke your phone," Oakley giggled into Kayce's chest.
They were on the floor, halfway under Kayce's desk, with Kayce's head on top of one of Oakley's boots and their coats draped over their bodies.
"I told you to catch it," Kayce pressed a kiss to your temple.
"I was a little preoccupied!" Oakley swatted his chest. "But your office does look like a tornado swept through here...sorry about that."
"That would be doing a service to this office," Kayce mumbled, his fingers tracing patterns into Oakley's arm over his chest.
"Think anyone has ever done that in this office?" Oakley wondered, laying her cheek over Kayce's heart.
"Mmm," Kayce sighed in contentment. "That I don't know of and don't really want to if I'm being honest considering who my predecessor is."
Oakley giggled.
There was a long beep that came from some other room, making Oakley lean up slightly. Kayce chuckled, pulling her back against him.
"It's just the machine," Kayce mumbled against her forehead. "Means it's done."
"Oh..." Oakley sighed. "Should we go check it out?"
"Kinda like laying here with you," Kayce's hand ran down Oakley's bare back.
"Of course, you do," Oakley leaned up on her elbow and looked down at Kayce's smile. "But unless you want creeps to keep texting me, we should probably get dressed and finish what we came here to do."
"I don't know about you," Kayce stretched. "But I did finish what I came here to do."
"You're ridiculous," Oakley rolled her eyes and got up.
After finding their scattered clothes and putting them back on, Oakley followed Kayce back into the room with the scanning machine. Kayce sat down in the chair in front of the screen and started to click the buttons. Oakley wrapped an arm around Kayce's neck, leaning down to see the screen better.
"Okay..." Kayce breathed out, his eyes looking over the report. "Looks like it came from somewhere outside of Darby...any of that look familiar to you?"
Kayce pointed to a map on the screen now. There was a bullseye over what looked to be some small building off of I-34. Oakley looked it over for a second, trying to find something that made sense.
"I don't know anything there," Oakley whispered.
"Well, that's where it's pinging the phone," Kayce clicked another few times and a printer came to life off to the side. "I'll have some of my team check it out on Monday."
"Why can't we go?" Oakley asked.
"Because" Kayce stood up and went over to the printer. "I don't want you near this place until we know what's in there."
"You only know about this place because of me," Oakley pointed out, her hands on her hips.
"Don't test your luck," Kayce smirked over at her, picking up the map. "Come on, we need to get back."
"Kayce," Oakley trailed after him. "I mean it...if you go, I go."
"I said I'd send some of my guys out there," Kayce looked over his shoulder but ultimately stopped when he saw Oakley not moving.
"We both know that means you too," Oakley sighed. "We're a team on this though."
"I don't like this," Kayce sighed but Oakley could see his exterior breaking slightly.
