"Haan haan, areh kundali mein likha tha ki aaj ki hi date mein shaadi nahi karwai toh paanch saal baad ayegi sahi wakt shaadi ki. Warna archane aatey hi rahengi,"Darpana said over the phone, while Tushika brought a bowl of haldi and kept it on a table, saying,"yeh raha ladkewalo ki waha se aayi hui haldi. Unki koi behen yah bhabi nahi hain isiliye main hi le aayi."
"Hmm, mujhe khushi hain ki tum saare kaam acche se samhaal rahi ho,"Darpana said.
It was Devangini's wedding day and she was sitting like a statue, dressed up in a yellow attire for the haldi ceremony. She stared at Rishabh's name which was hidden in her mehendi, and sighed.
Darpana came up to her and said,"Meghraj ka naam tuney kaat diya apne mehendi mein, magar khabardar jo aaj koi garbar ki toh,"and then applied haldi to her.
Shreyas applied haldi to her next and said,"hum jo kar rahe hain tere bhalai ke liye kar rahe hain mere bacchi. Tu khush rahegi dekhna."
Tushika applied haldi to her next and whispered to her,"muskurao nanad ji, tumhari Bhabi ki rehete huye tumhari shaadi kisi aur se nahi hogi."
"Matlab?"Devangini's eyes shined with hope.
"Main yeh shaadi rok kar rahungi."
"Par..."
"Koi sawaal nahi. Shaadi main honeh nahi dungi, pakka."
A smile crept on Devangini's face and she hugged Tushika immediately while whispering to her,"tum sabse best ho Bhabi. Mujhe kuch nahi chahiye, bass yeh shaadi rok doh kaise bhi karke."
"Rok dungi, fikar matt karo tum. Bharosa rakho mujhpar."
When she walked back to Shreyas he asked,"aisa kya kaha tumney Devi se ki uska chehera khil utha?"
"Maine ussey kaha ki main yeh shaadi rokne ki koshish karungi agar mujhe Meghraj sahi ladka nahi laga toh,"Tushika said.
"Aisa nahi hoga Tushi. Meghraj accha ladka hain. Yeh dekho,"Shreyas said while showing the picture to her.

"Hain na perfect? Areh Devi ko bohot pasand ayega yeh. Engagement toh karwa nahi paaye par shaadi ki baaki rasmey acche se honi chahiye Tushi,"Shreyas added.
"Bina engagement ke, bina kisi permanent baatchit ke, kaise maan gaye yeh log?"Tushika asked while narrowing her eyes.
"Areh bohot dino se jaan pehechaan hain humari. Pichle saal hi Mumbai transfer huya hain yeh. Dad ke department mein hi hain iska Dad bhi,"Shreyas said.
"Tum jo bhi kaho Shrey, par yeh sahi ladka nahi hain Devi ke liye,"Tushika thought.

It was evening and the baaraat was supposed to arrive at any given time. Devangini was ready and was waiting impatiently for Tushika. She had no idea regarding what was she planning to do. Her heart raced with each passing moment and she felt like she was been given slow poison.
