When Sun and I had both gotten ready for the ball all that was left to do was wait for our dates to pick us up. I looked at the clock and saw that there still was some time to eat something and I was absolutely starving. I had no idea if there was enough food at the ball so I made myself a grilled cheese and asked if Sun wanted one as well. She declined the offer, so I shrugged and ate alone.
I wanted to make sure my breath wasn't gross, so I went upstairs to brush my teeth one last time. When I got done brushing my teeth I looked at myself in the mirror. I could hardly recognize myself, but still I was scared Damon wouldn't like it. A guy as handsome as him must have tons of girls fighting over him. No. He asked me, that must mean something, mustn't it?
I put the lipcolour I was wearing in my clutch with a little mirror and some gum and went downstairs to join Sun. She was clearly nervous which was strange, because normally she wasn't this way. "So, Matt and you huh?" I said jokingly and winked at her. Her face turned into a tomato as she said "What about us? We are just friends." I however could hear that she herself wasn't completely sure about that. I nodded, but wasn't convinced. That was when the doorbell rang.
The both of us jumped up and Sun walked towards the door to open up. When she opened the door Matt was standing there all suited up. Sun welcomed him in and he greeted me. There was no sight of Damon though. I slightly lifted my eyebrow, totally confused. Matt saw my puzzled look and coughed nervously before confessing:
"Sorry Lun, Damon isn't going to make it. He said there were some problems in the family that needed solving. You can come with us if you'd like to?" I suddenly felt extremely nauseuous and disheartened, but then what Matt had said hit me. Some problems in Damon's family. How could I be so selfish? For all I knew something really terrible could have happened. Poor Damon. I felt guilty and wasn't sure on whether or not I should still go to the ball.
Sun and Matt kept insisting, so I eventually decided to come with them after making sure I really wasn't a burden to any of them. "Don't worry about it, Lun." Sun replied and she gave me a kiss on my head. We entered Matt's car and he drove off to the Mikaelson's residence.
It looked very impressive. A lot of greenery was surrounding a big beautiful looking house, well more a palace. "Wow," I said aloud causing Matt and Sun to laugh. "My thoughts exactly when I got here the first time," Matt said laughing. Matt parked his car somewhere, it honestly didn't matter where there was enough space for 30 more cars and there were already plenty of cars parked. We got out of the car and Matt guided us to the entrance.
