Damon knew about everything. He had suspected there was something going on and that's why he compelled Jeremy to tell him everything. Jeremy felt guilty, but of course he wasn't the one to blame. You can't stop compulsion.

I wasn't planning on putting a halt to the quest though. No, we were still going to follow the second lead. Even if that meant having to be accompanied by Damon. We got into the car. Damon took the driver's seat since he knew this neighbourhood and the direction to Apple Lane. Jeremy took the passenger's seat and I sat in the backseat.

We drove in silence I however had brought my phone and earbuds with me so I could listen to some music. When we got to the Apple Lane we parked the car a bit at the outskirts of the house, so we were hidden. Damon turned to face Jeremy and from the way he was staring into Jeremy's eyes I could tell that he was compelling Jeremy again. Before I could stop Damon he had already compelled Jeremy to go home. Jeremy immediately got out of the car and started walking home.

Then he turned to face me. "You stay put in the car. I'll be back in a second." He even locked the door when he left me in there. I sat there shocked. Did Damon just take over my quest? I wasn't going to let this happen. What if there was some aggressive guy inside. Damon needed back-up. So I did what I learned at scouting: I picked the lock. Luckily I always had some bobby pins with me and they turned out a great use.

Within a second I was out of the car. In the mean time Damon had already entered the house. What Damon didn't know though was that I had left my crossbow in the trunk of the car. The trunk was still open, so I took my crossbow out and quietly and carefully walked over to the house.

When I got to the door I saw that Damon hadn't closed it, so I could easily walk in. There was a lot of noise coming from what I suspected was the living room. A pained scream. Damon. I ran over to the living room. I saw an old man at one side of the room spraying something over Damon. Whatever the liquid was it gave Damon terrible burns and it made him scream. I didn't think twice when I jumped in front of Damon to protect him from any more damage and pointed the crossbow at the old man.

Strange, when the liquid hit me it didn't hurt me at all. All of a sudden the man stopped spraying and walked over to me with a confused look on his face. As if he had seen something impossible. I was still alarmed and pointing the crossbow. "This can't be. You must be...Rain's daughter?"

This was all very confusing to every party in the room. Damon was still recovering from the torturing verbena, I myself was shocked that the old man more or less knew who I was and the old man was shocked to see me I guess. We talked for a bit before I felt comfortable putting the crossbow down and then we talked some more.

The old man, who's name turned out to be Walker Thorne, even apologised to Damon. He explained he was cautious when it came to vampires. I still didn't understand how Damon could have entered the house if he wasn't invited in, but Walker said that the old owner of the house had past away, so with no owner everyone could basically enter.

I wanted to ask so much more, but Walker arranged for us to meet another time, because he had something he wanted to show me that he didn't have at his place. So we decided to meet up in four days, so everyone of us had plenty of time to let things sink in. We said goodbye and left to go home.

I put Damon in the passenger's seat and took the driver's seat myself. I saw him looking at me with, was it a proud look on his face? I laughed. "You were bad ass back there." Damon said clearly still impressed. "Why the sound of surprise?" I replied smiling as I took off to go home.
