I finished placing the skates into the truck and grabbed 2 pairs of mitts in case and an extra sweater.

This would be my first ever date.

It's been 5 minutes, and I'm sitting in the driver's seat staring at my hands on the wheel. I'm nervous, scared even. A million thoughts were going through my mind, and not one was enough to encourage me to start the truck.

Are dates this stressful?

Before I became late for the date, I started the car and drove towards her apartment. I may have been stressed, but I knew that would soon fade the longer I was around Lilith. She made me feel calm around her.

I parked beside the sidewalk and sent her a text to let her know I was here. When she came out of the building, I jumped out of the truck and ran around to open the door for her. But I think I may have been too excited because the door smacked me right in the face.

"Are you okay?" Lilith asked while trying to hide her laughter.

"Yeah, I'm alright." I said laughing.

"That reminds me of the night that you stayed at my apartment." She said.

"Oh no... I was drunk. What did I do?" I asked.

"You were getting into the backseat of Vivian's car and walked right into the car while hitting your head on the top of it and stumbled backward." She explained, laughing at the memory.

"Oh god." I answered, feeling embarrassed.

She got into the truck with the help of my hand using it for balance, and I closed the door to return to my seat.

"Where we going?" Lilith asked.

"Nathan Phillips Square." I answered simply while checking my blind spots and exiting the parking space.

"The outdoor rink!?" She asked.

"Yeah, I thought it would be a fun date... unless you don't want to go skating, then we can go somewhere els- " I rambled but got caught off guard when she placed her hand on mine that was resting on top of the center console.

"Skating is a wonderful idea." She answered calmly.

I smiled while staring at the road ahead.

Once we arrived at Nathan Phillips Square, I got out of the car to run and open the door. But she was already attempting to get out, so I ended what she started by fully opening the door and helping her out of the truck.

"Hold on, I got us skates." I said as I took both pairs out of the backseat.

"You bought me a new pair?" She asked.

"Of course, I'm not going to give you an old used one. Also, yes, they are sharpened." I answered.

"Are you ready?" I asked, getting excited.

"Yes! I haven't gone skating in forever!" She exclaimed.

I just chuckled and carried the two pairs of skates while walking towards the rink where we could tie up the laces.

"Do you need help with tightening yours?" I asked as I sat beside her on the ground.

"Yeah, that would be great. I'm not exactly sure how to properly tie them." She answered.

"Okay." I answered while sitting on my heels.

I picked up her foot by the blade since she had already put the skates on and tied them. It didn't take long to tie them, and then I sat down beside her to tie mine as well. Afterward, we stood up to get on the ice.
