Chapter 17 - A Talk With Tanigo

It was the first day of April as Lukas makes his way to the Academy alongside Sonzai. Sonzai was being extra cautious recently, which seems to worry Lukas a bit since he does remember the masked men that tried to capture him. He does know that Kson is just staying at home, remaining on guard duty as she would put it, though Lukas has that strange feeling that it could be something else.

While walking through the hallways of the Academy grounds, he could hear whispers amongst the crowd, like as if his sense of hearing heightened as he could hear what everyone was saying very clearly.

???: "Look, it's the Omni Magician."

???: "I heard he was left under house arrest."

???: "He hurt his fellow student?"

???: "Yeah, I heard he can't control his power."

All these things he could hear was starting to make him uncomfortable being back, though Sonzai caught the idea already.

Sonzai: "Oi! Stop talking about him!"

Everyone in the hallways understood immediately as they went on with their business as they don't want to mess with Sonzai.

Lukas: "Thanks again Zai.."

Sonzai: "No worries, besides, you just got back. Things will change over time as things settle."

The moment they arrived to the class, Lukas felt rather lucky today as they were way earlier than before.

Sonzai: "Well Lukas, I'm going to take care of something that the Founders wanted me to do. I'll probably only be back after school. I did all of Akuma-Sensei's work that he gave me so I'm all in the clear. See ya!"

Sonzai then walked off as Lukas sighed since Sonzai keeps leaving so quickly without letting him speak at all. But he went directly to his desk, taking out his sketching book as he began to draw on the next page. The drawing was mainly about the strange silhouette of the person he talked to in his dream one time when he lost control, though what was strange is that he couldn't recognize the face at all as he filled the entire silhouette with just dark black textures. 

He couldn't quite understand why this was the case, but he breathed in and out slowly as his mind was trying to come up with answers. Yet during this whole time, the other students noticed him, though left him alone so that they could continue on with their business, though a group of them walked up to him. The group was just mainly two people, which was Ina and Zaion.

Ina: "Hey Lukas."

He stopped his drawing as he looked up to see the two.

Lukas: "Oh hey Ina.. Zaion.."

Zaion: "Glad to see you're back."

Zaion had a neutral expression as she didn't want to show any positive expression. After all, she still sees him as a rival that she has to beat. Though the fact that Lukas was somehow able to keep up with the likes of Kukyona Sonzai, it would mean that she's got a long way to go.

Lukas: "Th-Thanks?"

Ina: "How you feeling after taking a mental break?"

Lukas: "Well... I guess I did take a mental break, but not really at the same time..?"

Zaion: "That's supposed to mean?"

Lukas was thinking really carefully on how to word his next words.

Lukas: "Well... Two things mainly happened. The first is the fact that apparently I ended up... in an arranged marriage.."

Ina and Zaion looked on dumbfounded, surprised that he would be in an arranged marriage as technically it is something that isn't too common.
