Chapter 51 - Being Introduced To Apex Legacies

The next day has arrived as Lukas was walking the streets of Vtopia, being in his usual attire with the hood on to make sure he doesn't get spotted around since he was technically leaving the safety of the Academy campus. He was incredibly nervous as he wasn't expecting himself to really get involved with Selen that much at all since the two are polar opposites. 

As far as Lukas knew, Selen was energetic, competitive and bright as she is a full time gamer as well, which he managed to do a little research on her. Her online alias doesn't reveal her true nature of course, but apparently she is one of the best gamers out there which is a very high praise to say the least. Being competitive and collecting trophies is of course thanks to her dragon side of course, which Lukas never really understood why dragons tend to crave certain things nowadays, nor in history for that matter. 

Lukas on the other hand was more of a casual gamer, he did play games from time to time, but never in a competitive way as he has never competed in tournaments or anything like that. Yet here he was, heading to Selen's place to try out a VR Battle Royale that is a very competitive game over all. He honestly questions why he is doing things like this when he is clearly worried about the High Society, but then again, he figured that he might as well go along with it to get rid of some of his stress. He did hear that gaming can relieve some stress, while also increase your stress, but in a positive way. 

He eventually arrived to Selen's home as he was incredibly nervous. He technically realized that he has never been to a girl's home before. Yet he powered through as he rung the doorbell. He put his hands in his hoodie's pockets as he waited patiently, though he hoped that he didn't arrive at a bad time. The door opened about two minutes later as Selen opened the door. Her face turned from a neutral expression to one of excitement in an instant.

Selen: "Hey Lukas! Glad you could make it."

Lukas: "I got here as soon as I could so..."

Selen: "Well that's good because I need help setting up your rig for the game."

Lukas: "I guess that makes sense..."

Selen then allowed Lukas inside as she guided her around the home. It was rather spacious to say the least as it felt like more than one person should be living here, yet from what he could feel, it was only her here.

Lukas: "Say... Do you live alone?"

Selen: "At the moment yeah. My sister is busy with her duties as usual as she doesn't have any time for home activities. She is rather busy nowadays, but oh well, it doesn't bother me."

Lukas: "What is it that your sister does..?"

Selen: "She works for the SSF, but currently is a high ranking official. She earns a lot but isn't home at all so you don't have to worry about it."

Lukas: "I see..."

Lukas was a bit curious about who Selen's sister was, but then again, he isn't as he doesn't want any awkward interactions today as he is doing his best right now anyways. They eventually arrived into the living room as he realized that there was a giant television set up with some VR equipment and certain things that Lukas will need to do.

Selen: "Well to start things off, you'll need to be playing within the living room as my room is off limits to you alright?"

Lukas: "Yeah... I can imagine.."

Selen: "Also when you get the chance to actually log in, you'll need to create a verification ID so that this system will pick you up immediately when you play."

Lukas: "So it somehow recognizes you...?"

Selen: "Pretty much, however the one thing I recommend is that when creating your avatar, you don't need it to look like you specifically. I mainly made mine look like me because I wanted to show off, so you don't have to."
