Chapter 58 - An Awkward Encounter

It was the next morning as Lukas and Melody were walking within the Central Districts, though what made the Central Districts different to the rest of the city was because most of Atlas' technology was found around these parts as the people within the Central Districts are rich enough to purchase AI companion robots to assist them in daily necessities.

Melody was eyeing every single detail that the AI companions were doing. Like a little drone carrying around flower pots to assort them. Like a android-looking robot who is carrying a child around on its shoulders while the kid seemed to be having fun. Melody and Lukas had their hoods on so that they don't arouse suspicion or get spotted through scanners that could be around. The AI robots seemed to do daily chores as these stores and homes are rather nice to look at with the families treating them nicely.

Melody: "Wow, so there are good things that Atlas does..."

Lukas: "Well, from what I can remember, Atlas Corporation was revolutionary when it comes to advancements. Originally they focused on military funding and was a functioning mercenary company at times, being hired to deal with threats and rescue operations. Though over time, they ended up earning so much respect from the governments of the world, they decided to form a market that could benefit the people of the world, though mostly for this city in particular. You do get some of their AI products outside of Atlas, but they are scarce and only those who have a lot of money can get them..."

Melody: "I see. Though I find it strange that they had a girl doing everything..."

Lukas: "What do you mean...?"

Melody: "Technically speaking, the girl, Henya, is someone who appears to be really smart, at least according to the databanks of the hacked networks I could get into. The firewalls that are within Atlas' servers are such a pain though..~"

Melody felt really drained when it came to getting into Atlas' mainframe. 

Lukas: "Yet how smart is she...?"

Melody: "Apparently the only Human to have an IQ of 999."

Lukas: "W-What..? That's insane... No wonder why they want her back so badly..."

Melody: "Quite surprising in my opinion, though with us now being split up in groups, we're trying to cover more ground. Yet we can't find her in this large city."

Lukas: "Well... This city started from nothing and built its way from the ground up. So eventually people moved into this city for greater opportunities thanks to Atlas... But, what did Henya do when she was captured by them...?"

Melody: "Well, the files indicate that she was put into a lot of tests and was the main reason for some of Atlas' recent accomplishments. Though it seems more forced than anything else. It was clear that Henya didn't have a say in this as she was intentionally failing at times, which probably might be the reason she was able to escape in the first place..."

Lukas: "Yet if we find her, we might know what is going on...?"

Melody: "Exactly~"

Though as the two progressed through the Central Districts, it became clear that there was a lot of people as the crowds were filling the streets and cars being jam packed as they could hear people shouting at each other as well as honking their horns of their vehicles.

Melody: "How many people live in this city anyways~? Their noises are slightly getting a little overwhelming, but irritating at the same time..."

Lukas: "A large majority of people throughout the States live here. Think about it, the United States could be seen as its own continent as it is large enough to fit millions of people, perhaps close to a billion due to how Atlas is handling it... So if I were to estimate, about nearly five hundred thousand?"
