Chapter 70 - A Plan To Move Forward

Within the Atlas main building, we can see Malware inside of the main office, watching over the destroyed city as all she can hear through the broken window is the sound of the whistling winds. She somewhat felt rather contempt with it as it was peaceful to her. While some of the buildings were crumbling, it was a sight she was used to ever since her first takeover a while back.

She then received transmissions as she then turned around, swiping her right hand through the air, creating holographic screens as this is one of her many methods of communicating. The first transmission she took now was now from OBSIDIAN.

Malware: "What have you to report OBSIDIAN?"

She was looking at the screen where she could see OBSIDIAN alongside some of the ATLAS Combat Units. They seemed to be in some abandoned building as it clearly was vacant of any life.

OBSIDIAN: "Most of the Districts are vacant of lifeforms. However we haven't been able to locate the group in question as of yet."

Malware: "No worries OBSIDIAN. Just keep up the search. I doubt that they would be outside the city. If I knew them, they would be hiding somewhere."

OBSIDIAN: "Understood."

The transmission then cut off as the next to report was ARC. ARC seemed to be with his own ATLAS Combat Units, along with some heavy armoured vehicles as he seemed to be in an abandoned street.

Malware: "Anything to report ARC?"

ARC: "Nothing of the moment. They clearly know how to hide."

Malware: "That's just how the fleshbags are~ We can't let them leave, or it'll simply ruin the plan. I don't care how long it takes, I want the Omni Magician dead or alive, whichever fits your boat."

ARC: "Understood."

The transmission then cut off as she then called Zentreya, hoping to receive some good news. Zentreya still had her visor on as it still had that red hue instead of the green that many were used to.

Malware: "How's the process going?"

Zentreya: "The subject is cooperating. Angelica Misaki hasn't shown any sign of stopping. The Artificial Mana Core should be complete within a given 72 hours."

Malware: "That's good news. What about the body?"

Zentreya: "Done within the next 40 hours."

Malware: "Glad to hear it. I want it fully operational when the time comes. With it, no one will be able to stand in my way, no matter how hard they try. They could even send in the Council for all I care, but to them, they wouldn't want to ruin such a balance."

Zentreya: "Of course Malware."

When that transmission ended, the holographic screens then disappeared as Malware sighed with delight, glad that things are currently going her way. The only issue that she had to deal with is that the TEMPUS group along with the Omni Magician, Lukas Misaki is most likely still within the city limits. She intends to find them and eliminate them out of the picture. 

She doesn't know why Void wants Lukas alive in the first place, but since he was in her own domain, she can decide what she wants to do with him. She could kill him now and just deal with the High Society later, but then again, she doesn't want to cut contact with them just yet. There was one thing she wanted to make sure on that she could get her hands on it.

She was still in contact with Doctor Mallory, so there's a likely chance that he could help her with a little something. So she decides to contact him through the holographic screens again as he eventually picked up.
