A/n; Alternate universe where Clarisse is like Percy and goes to a boarding school during the school year. She'd transfer to a new one just a few months ago.

The new girl wasn't anything like the kids at my school. She looked like a buff, rugby player. She had short, dark curly hair that was always pulled back in a high bun and her skin was an almond shade. She often wore a camo jacket and some form of baggy jeans with a band shirt from the 70s. She always had at least one earphone in, and from what I saw was good at history, specifically the World Wars. The only thing that was publicly known about her was that she went to a summer camp on Long Island, everything else was pretty secretive. I have to be honest, as soon as she walked into my science class I knew I wanted to get to know her but her confidence made me so nervous at school then at the boarding house she mostly stayed in her dorm or was in the gym.

All the girls in my class were standing in the locker room, getting changed for gym class. I stayed in the corner minding my own business when she came next to me. Like always she had her earphones in and seemed to not give a shit about who saw her. I was changing and putting my normal clothes into my bag when I saw out of the corner of my eye that she had a huge scar on her waist. She was putting on her sports shirt so I didn't get a good look at it but it seemed harsh. It was faded enough to be at least a year old but still obvious. Honestly it looked like she'd pissed off a dragon and it decided to slash at her.

Of course sir made us play basketball. He divided the class up into three teams, one stayed on the side of the bench whilst the others played. I wasn't a sports person at all so I avoided the ball like it was the plague. That was until sir yelled from the side of the court;

'Y/N! Participate or it'll be a saturday!'

Before I knew it, one of the boys threw the ball to me. I just started running and bouncing it then regretted it when I realised no one was chasing me.

'Wrong way babes.' I heard a raspy voice call from the side of the court. I turned to see it was the new girl, Clarisse. I could feel my face turn bright red and I just threw the ball to the closest person. I was so embarrassed at that moment and just wanted the period to end.

After what felt like an eternity it finally did. I went back to the changing rooms with the rest of the girls in my class. I was pulling on my flower embroidered jeans when someone next to me said;

'Don't beat yourself up over running the wrong way. It was just gym class and I bet no one will really remember tomorrow.'

I turn to see Clarisse standing next to me in her jeans and sports bra. She was smile down to me, as she was about 3-4 inches taller then me, in a very comforting way.

'Thanks, I'm never partaking in gym class again though.' I joked, pulling on my white, long sleeved shirt. Clarisse laughed a little at my comment, responding with;

'That's fair, but I reckon you'd be good at dodgeball. You're pretty fast.'

Honestly that made me blush so much. I smiled going back to putting my gym clothes in my bag then her scare caught my eye again. It was definitely from something bad.

I was sitting in the common area of the boarding house that night reading. I still had to get through act 4 of Macbeth before tomorrow so I was trying to get through that when I heard the fridge open. It was 1130 so most girls had already gone to bed or at least their dorms. I turned to see Clarisse grabbing the jug of water out of the fridge and putting it on the bench. She grabbed a glass from the cabinet then poured some water into it. She looked up releasing I was starting at her, which seemed to take her by surprise. She pulled one of her earphone out and said;

'Sorry, didn't mean to disturb you. Why are you even up this late?'

'Trying to get through some readying for English. Don't worry it's okay.' I say as she putted the jug back, picks up and glass, and walks over to me.

'That's fair. Macbeth is a hard read sometimes.' She sounded amused as she sat down on the couch opposite me and taking a sip from her glass. She was wearing red sweat pants and a black shirt that was a little small on her arms, making her muscles more prominent. Suddenly thinking about her arms, the thought of her scar flowed my mind.

'Can I ask you something Clarisse?'

"Course'

'Where'd you get the scar on your waist? I noticed it when we were changing for gym earlier and was just intrigued as it looked pretty bad.'

A little smirk fell over her lips and she glanced down towards her stomach, almost like she was proud someone noticed it. 'Yeah that was from camp last year. We have some pretty intense games of capture the flag.' She laughed.

'Wow, must be intense to give you that.' I respond.

'Yeah, their a real blood bath. Can I ask you something now?'

'Sure.' I say, thinking it can't be anything that bad.

'I've been here for like five weeks now and have caught you staring at me more times then I could count. Why haven't you spoken to me?' She leaned forward on her knees, as if to man spread.

My face felt very hot suddenly. 'Well, because, you see.' I tried talking but it just didn't want to come out. Clarisse laughed to herself then stood up. She walked over to me then sat down next to me, putting an arm around my shoulder.

'That isn't an answer babes.' She whispered.

'Cause you make me nervous anytime I try to talk to you.' I mutter, making the smirk on her face grow. Her hand moved up to my face, her thumb gentle rubbing over my cheek.

'Is this making you nervous then?'

I nodded.

'Would a kiss make you feel better then?'

I nodded again. She pulled my face towards her, pressing her lips onto mine. She was gentle and sweet, a surprise as I thought she'd be more of a rough person. My hands went to her neck as her travelled to the back of mine, pulling gently on my hair. After a few seconds she pulled away, looking me directly in my eyes.

'Did that calm you down a bit?'
