Chapter 3

I hid on the wall when she went out, then I followed her again.

I followed her until we reached the outskirts of the forest, I followed her without making any noise.

She reached a treehouse and climbed there, I looked up and frowned "Is this where she's living? but why?" I looked up again and I decided to go.

I walked and still wondered who she was, why she's living alone here and why does Captain William tell me to pick her up?

ROSELYN'S POV

I cooked some foods here and I slept on my bed, I really missed here!

Afternoon, I decided to go back to the base and I saw everyone was lined up so I approached them, Captain Nozel glare on me "Where do you think you went?" I cleared my throat "I'm sorry I was out and doing training" I said, he approached me "Do you think that's enough reason? you shouldn't go far in the first place" I nodded "I'm sorry, Captain it won't happen again" he moved closer to me but I remained unmoving "You know what? you're just new here yet you are bringing trouble what about a little punishment? what do you think?" he asked "You are my Captain, I Don't have any objections" He nodded " No dinner for you" I nodded then he walked again.

After his long lecture he went away already but Solid grabbed my hand "Don't forget you still have undone business with me" he said and grinned at me and behind him I saw Chrimary Smirks on me and continued talking with some members, I noticed no one was looking on us "I believe I warned you already, you are not my Captain for me to fear of!" I smirked on him and brushed his hand away, he grabbed my cheeks tightly with his one hand "Listen to me peasant, I can kill you right here, right now if I want to. You are nothing for this kingdom, an outsider and cast out! that's why even your own family turned their back on you" he smirks "Shut up because I won't fall for this trap again" I pushed him a little before I walked away.

"Who cares about dinner? it's just food! another fat on the body!" I was laying on the grass and watching the sky.

I blinked and I felt tears from my eyes "Ah Roselyn don't cry because of food! you can survive without it!" I said and I brushed my hands on my face aggressively.

SOLID'S POV

I looked on the empty seat and smirked "She deserves it" I said to myself "You know...she threatened me earlier. She pointed an arrow at my neck!" Nebra frown "That girl! she should be ready!" I noticed Nozel was in deep thoughts maybe he's regretting that he picked her up "If I were you I would kick her out" He glare on me "Whatever happened to you earlier it's your fault, Solid! I warned you and you did not listen!" I sigh "Alright it's my fault but what I can't understand is why did you choose her? I mean..." I stopped upon realizing something... on her eyes there was a great pain in it when I looked in it! I wonder where it came from.

ROSELYN'S POV.

I sighed as I felt tired but then my hands automatically swung to defend myself when I felt a presence from behind but he was able to catch it and twist my arm to my back before he forced me down and put his knee on my back "Captain? I'm sorry!" he let me go and I groan before I stood, I looked on him he still have the usual cold look, he just stare on me "Tomorrow we'll be out for mission, just the two of us" I gasped "What? I mean we?" I can't believe he just told me about this! "Do I have to repeat myself?" I shake my head "But why me? I mean...I Don't have any objections with it but..." I bit my lower lips "You Don't have objections but you have buts? no buts! You will come with me, we will face a magical beast who has been destroying the houses near the mountains" I nodded "Alright! I got it" He nodded and turned around "Get some rest, tomorrow we will depart before the sun rises" he said before walking away.

I woke up early in the morning, I checked around if everyone was already up but it's seems like I'm the only one who's awake, I check on Captain Nozel's room and I saw he still asleep so I carefully closed the door.

I started preparing my things and right after I finished he knocks on my room and told me we will going.

I thought we will ride horse but I was wrong, we used his silver Eagle to fly! before we left Nebra and Solid glares at me but I ignored them.

Along the journey we both silent while he was checking the surrounding below "Captain why did you choose me? I mean this is my first mission" he looked back on me "Because I know you will only cause trouble if I leave you to Solid and Nebra" my mouth gaped "I won't argue with you but I just want you to know that your brother, slapped me and he keeps on pulling shits on me!" he pushed my cheek towards the left as if he was checking the side of my cheek "I knew it" that's what he said before he turned around and looked below us, I was dumbfounded for a moment....was that it? what was that for? I want to ask but I'm too scared, I Don't want to argue with him.

I was hugging my knees here, he wasn't even talking with me "Captain" I stood and approach him then I sat beside him "Aren't we going to plan what will going to do once we face that magical beast?" he looked on me and showed me the map "This is the location of that beast but...." he traces his finger towards the outskirt of the forest where in there is a little village located "He was able to go here" I frowned and looked closely to the map "Hmm it's quite far from his orgin but I wonder what pushes it to attack the village?" I looked on him "Well, they are beast! it's good at nothing but destroying things and killings" I sigh and stood "Or maybe there's a deeper reason why...why are you focusing on just one conclusion?" he glare at me and stood "What are you trying to point out? beast are good at nothing, remember that!" I shake my head "I've been living on the forest for almost half of my life. Magical beast won't attack you until you did something to triggers it" He sigh and smirk "That's base on your perspective Roselyn or maybe you haven't met any beast yet because you usually hiding on your tree house" I gasped, how did he know I was living on a treehouse? I saw his expression changed before he looked away but I cleared my throat "You're right. I am living on a treehouse it means I don't want to interfere into someone else's home. Maybe those people on the village trespass on its territory" he glare back on me "I'm the Captain here Roselyn! all you have to do is listen to me and not argue with me and one more thing, I Don't care about how you see things! keep it to yourself" he turn around and walked away from me but I followed him "But listen to me Captain, this mission is for both us! we need to team up to be able to be successful-" he face me again and grabbed the front of my cloak "I am still your Captain! my decision is your decision too!" his face is so close and his voice is stern that's why I wasn't able to speak.

Night arrived, I remained silent and hugging my knees here, I Don't want to talk with him at all because I know it won't lead us to good, I was surprised when he handed me a bread so I looked up on him and accepts it then he sat beside me but not too close "Tell me, how do you end up getting slapped by Solid?" he asked while eating "Well, I was fixing my room yesterday when Chrimary knocked on my door then she asked if we can train together" I rely what happened he nodded as if he is listening to me "And he said you pointed an arrow to him? was that correct?" I gulped "Hmm I Don't mean that! he triggered me!" I hugged my knees and hid my face on it "I see, I'll do my final judgement to it once we're back for now, let's focus with this beast" I nodded "What's your plan Captain?" he looked on me "We will head to the village first and talk with the village chief before we hunt that beast" I nodded "Okay I got it" he nodded "While were on the village I want you to observe the people and report to me if you notice something odd about them" I nodded again "Okay I got it Captain, are we going to separate? I think that's better so we can easily gathered informations" he nodded "Alright, I got it" we fell into silence after that.

I noticed he fell asleep so I took my blanket out of my bag and put it on him before I stood and watched the surroundings, "the night sky is much beautiful above here" I said before I lay my back and fell asleep too.
