Deep end, swimming in my feelingsI been here before, but it feels like I'm drownin'
Sinkin', am I overthinkin?
Tell me am I foolish to think you'd meet me here?
She had no idea how the past 48 hours had passed her by. Nonetheless, there was so much on her mind that she couldn't be bothered to try and account for the time. The only thing moving on a constant mental loop was him. His smell, smile, laugh and lips- lips way too indulgent for her to think straight that night. The night that held so much energy, brought so much change. Then there was the post she'd slapped into her archive almost as soon as she'd displayed it to the world.
Ivy wasn't the type of girl that posted men or even a hint that there must've been someone. She was excited, for the first time in a while and a tad bit spiteful. She knew Darius would see it; she wanted him to. He was her past and that cemented it. Still, she now wondered if Jordan may be her future.
It was too soon to get this attached to anyone. She'd almost made that mistake with Bryn before his eagerness to make her a stepmother jolted her back to reality.
Perhaps that's why she hadn't called Jordan since their date. She'd replied to a few messages here and there, but she needed space to think. She couldn't do that when he was around.
With a heavy sigh, she rolled onto her stomach and huffed just as her bedroom door flew open.
"Ivy Aponi Sioux, I know you heard all ten of my calls. What is going on with you?" Her twin's voice didn't shake her. She waved a hand dismissively and of course this irritated Isla more.
Stepping closer, Isla waved her hand in front of Ivy's face before she looked at the door frame helplessly. Another pair of footsteps resounded and soon Ivy felt a weight near her waist as the extra person took a seat.
"Ivy dearest" Gabby's soft voice floated into her ear and she turned quietly in response "You went MIA on us all after your date, love. Did everything go alright? Based on your post we thought it went great... until the post disappeared."
"Yeah, what was up with that? The post was adorable , why the hell did you delete it!?" Isla waved her hands in exasperation, her mind whirring to places she didn't even want to consider "Please don't tell me it has anything to do with Darius being a cry baby in the comments."
"It's not about him." Ivy huffed out her explanation "It's just fast, too fast for me."
"Then why post him Vee? Don't you think that's also going to send mixed signals to Jordan?"
Gabby had a point there.
"Yeah, it's def giving mixed signals. What happened exactly?" Isla furthered.
She knew they were right. Jordan had messaged her to ask if everything was alright after she'd archived it. She told him she just wanted privacy and he let her rock. Still, he'd seemed disappointed by it, and that had partially added to her funk. She didn't know how she felt but she didn't want him to think she was wasting his time or playing games.
"It might" she admitted before she flopped onto her stomach and took in the concern of her girls' faces "Look, the date was the best I've ever had, and we kissed. He drove me home, we kissed again, and he walked me to the door, and it was so perfect. I just, I don't know if I should jump into anything right now though. I jumped in with Darius and Bryn, they both crashed. I don't want to crash with Jordan too."
Sitting up, Ivy crossed her legs beneath her and placed her face in her hands "I'm not impulsive but he makes me want to be. He does whatever he feels he should do, without thinking sometimes. He's nothing like I thought he was, he's not some self-centered, vapid athlete. He makes me laugh and he knows random facts about sharks and brags about his cats."
