So what'chu really mean
When you tell me all these things
Like I need you
Is it true
Don't wanna walk away
But you can make me stay
It's your move, if you choose
Italy was more than she ever dreamed. Jordan continued to make her wildest thoughts come true. They'd explored Capri taking the cable car and catching marvelous views at the highest point on the island in the afternoon after viewing the renowned Giardini di Augusto and the Blue Grotto.
Whenever she got married, she knew that she'd want her honeymoon to be in Italy. The Amalfi Coast was beautiful but now on the sixth day of their trip she found herself in Tuscany with the man who looked at her as if she were gold. They were staying in a gorgeous villa at the Borgo Scopeto Relais on the countryside. In fact, their temporary place of residence was the setting for Letters to Juliet, a movie Ivy adored but Jordan had never seen. She resolved herself to rectifying that at some point.
Their first day in Tuscany had been perfect for Jordan's inner nerd and Ivy's obsession with physics. They went to multiple museums, starting with the The Galleria dell'Accademia di Firenze where they viewed many of Michaelangelo's sculptures including the David before ending with an engaging experience at the Leonardo Interactive Museum. They also walked the city center, allowing Ivy to get a feel for the beautiful architecture that surrounded her including the Duomo. Jordan snapped thousands of pictures along the way, if she'd been paying attention, she would've realized she was quickly becoming his favorite subject. That day was innocent and inquisitive, they moved like close friends who could predict each other's movements. It was comfortable. However, the best part of the day was seeing him glow like a child as he played with all the interactive contraptions in Leonardo's Museum.
The second day he'd taken her out to smaller love hamlets to see cities people didn't really talk about. Still, with each step she took, she found it harder to imagine why they weren't as exalted as Rome or Venice. They went to Pienza and visited all the streets of love, via dell'Amore, via del bacio, and via della fortuna. They took adorable selfies at each one, it was touristy and corny, but it made her heart alight all the same. Pienza was dreamy, with breathtaking views of Val D'Orcia. They walked through the medieval streets of Montepulciano up to Piazza Grande and sampled lovely wines at Vino Nobile di Montepulciano. They ended with a romantic dinner at the enchanting Restaurant Lupaia and Ivy felt herself slipping deeper.
To think Jordan had gone to the trouble of planning all this was mind blowing.
Today, following an excursion to Pisa to see the Leaning Tower, she found that the Chianti wineries didn't allow them to be anything but intimate. Following a walk along the Strada dei Castelli that brought them to medieval castles, fortresses and old abbeys which all astounded her, Ivy was beginning to feel like she was being hard-headed. Nonetheless, at the end of it, Ivy and Jordan sampled a vast array of the best wine Italy had to offer along with exotic cheeses and decadent desserts. They'd even gotten the honor of bottling their own special bottle of wine to commemorate their adventure. Of the ten bottles they left with, that one was special.
As they sat out along the vineyard, she gazed at him with affection. She couldn't believe he had even thought about all of this.
"Jordan, I know you're probably tired of hearing me say this, but this is amazing." She complimented and he waved her off before he took out his camera and took a picture of her, staring at him intently a smile playing in her eyes and a wine glass sitting daintily in her hand.
