All those nights I cried over us

Where were you then? Where were you then? Baby

I don't wanna feel that again

I'm still afraid, I'm still afraid

"She's still not talking about it?"

Yara whispered to Isla who shook her head no, she made yet another vanilla chai tea latte for the sullen accountant while video calling their event planning sister. After a week this had become routine. Yara would call every day for an update on Ivy who had planted herself in Isla's guest room since that fateful night. She'd only move every once and again to visit a nearby Starbucks and read whatever book had caught her attention.

"Shit did she tell you exactly what happened?"

"Nope and it's been a week. Jordan won't answer my calls either. I'd hunt him down and beat him if I wasn't sure he's probably going through enough himself right now." Isla confided and Yara appraised her.

"Was that compassion for someone who may have broken our sister's heart?"

"Something like that. Ralen called me to check on Ivy and he explained somewhat. Jordan is apparently in a real bad head space."

Yara shook her head.

"Yeah well, one look at the Wizards press release and that's pretty damn clear."

"True shit, he looked miserable. Ralen thinks it's almost an even split between the breakup and the trade, he made it seem 60:40, either way I don't doubt that Jordan had good intentions. Ivy left him so I can't exactly kill him for that."

Yara thought on this before she shook her head.

"Things went left so fast though." The oldest of Elizabeth's children was still trying to wrap her head around this.

"Yup, trust me, I'm still trying to understand it because she clearly is still into him. She's practically a ghost when she is home, only leaves the room to shower. At this point she's damn near finished her living single reruns. AJ played chess with her yesterday; I think he was getting really worried about her. She played one game out here and then went right back."

"Damn, do I need to fly in again?"

"No, I've got it. You're pregnant you should rest."

"Isla please, you said yourself that AJ wraps shooting next week. You guys are supposed to be going back to Canada in July. If she's not out of it then, who's going to be with her? She can't stay in your apartment or any apartment for that matter by herself."

"No, she can't. AJ and I talked about this too. I'd stay down here with her until she felt better, and he'd go back and handle his business, he has about two weeks before he begins his new project. Luckily, they're filming in Toronto so."

"Isla no, you and AJ are newlyweds. Ivy can come down here and stay with Q and I. Being around Jahi may cheer her up some plus she knows this area."

"You sound like mom" Isla rolled her eyes "You also just got married this year plus you have Jahi and another one on the way in November. Look, I think I'm better equipped to deal with this right now."

Yara shook her head and exhaled deeply. What use was it being the bigger sister if no one ever listened?

"Isla, Q and I have a rhythm, we have a long history and now we're married. You and AJ were friends sure but you've never navigated this relationship space with him. You said yourself that being away from him was a huge adjustment for you why would you want to prolong that? Ivy can be fine with us."
