Jennie

Jerk.

Didn't even bother apologizing for hurting the feelings of someone whom you have literally known for years. Not like we have spoken about anything before. I have seen him in this library every single day but it was the first time I heard his voice. It was deep. It was hot.

He is hot.

"Babe?" I look up from my book to see Kai standing in front of me with two cups of coffee and a brown paper bag in his hand. "Wanna go for a walk?"

"Hey, yeah sure." I grab my bag and head to the counter to get the book stamp and head out with Kai. We walk to the nearest park and sit down on a clean bench. He offers me my cup of coffee and a cookie. "How was work?"

"It was alright. Today the craziest thing happened though," and he goes on about this employee who got caught stealing from their company stores or something of that sort. I got distracted halfway through his long description of how he caught this robbery. Once he finished boasting about his achievement, he remembers to ask me about myself. "How was work for you?"

We sound like people learning to date for the first time.

"It was alright." I take a bite off my cookie and well plan to describe my day in detail but Kai starts talking about his plans for our honeymoon. I don't even bother paying attention this time. Does it even matter what I think? Whatever he plans, it will happen so I am just gonna go with the flow I guess. I mean, as long as I am with the man I love, does anything else matter?

I stare at the jogging track in front of us, a few meters away, as a man walks with his tiny pomeranian who is tied to a leash. I watch him the whole time instead of listening to Kai because this is way more interesting than his plans. I watch the man in a hoodie, covering his face completely, wearing all black with a full mysterious bad boy vibe pick up the tiny dog and handle him like it's his small baby.

Cute.

I try to see his face through the hoodie but the distance and the black mask he is wearing is no help.

"What do you think?" I look at Kai who is waiting for my irrelevant opinion.

"Yeah, sounds great." I lie, my eyes shoot back front but the man is gone. Maybe I should probably come here more often. Or not. I just want to see this man. I just want to see what he looks like. People are quite interesting, aren't they?

I head back home and find Lilly still there. I knew she wouldn't go even though she said she would.

"Smells good Lilly. What's today's special?" I yell as remove my heels.

"Pizza." She doesn't yell as I do. She is mature even though she has made one dumb mistake.

"It smells like your cooking."

I head to the kitchen, trying to guess what the smell is. As I said, she is cooking, just not our dinner.

"LIAM!" I scream as I run towards my baby nephew who is sitting on my kitchen floor playing with one of my hot wheel cars. I don't necessarily collect them because I like them but Kai has always bought me 10 hot wheels for every Christmas along with something else, most likely a book. He never really asked me if I liked them so he probably assumed that I loved them when I faked to be happy with the gift. I can't really blame the guy. "How is my sweet little nephew?"

I pick him up from the ground and hold him across my arms and spin him around a few times before keeping him on the kitchen counter.

"Nini, do you have more?" He shows me the car and I nod. "Can you give me one please?"

"To keep?" I ask him, feeling slightly excited to finally get rid of the 80 cars that are in my bedroom.

"No, Jennie, he has plenty of toys already. Just give him a few to play with for the time being." Lisa's mom mode is on. Liam makes his puppy eyes but Lisa seems used to it. On the other hand, I cannot say no to those puppy eyes filled with instant fake tears. God knows how he manages to fill his eyes with tears instantly.

"It's okay. I don't want them anyways." I go back to my room and bring out the big box of hot wheels that I am willingly giving away. "Here you go, baby. Play with them in the living room while Mama makes your food, okay?"

I go back to the kitchen and sit down on the counter while Lilly is plating her son's dinner.

"What happened?"

"I went back home, got Liam, packed a few clothes, and came."

"WHAT? Lilly, he will be furious." Just as I say this, the doorbell rings. I give Lisa a look before going to the door. I take a deep breath, already knowing who it could be.

"Hey, Jennie is my wife here?"

"Jungkook, hey, how are you? Yeah, they are inside, come on in." I open the door wider so that my brother-in-law can walk in. Liam sees his dad, at least the man he thinks is his dad, and runs towards him. Jungkook looks down at the small boy standing next to his leg, waiting to be carried and showered with affection.

He looks at me, at Lisa, and back at Liam. He lets out a sigh and picks him up.

"Dadda, look what Nini gave me." He shows off his new toy.

"Liam, I need to talk to Nini and Mamma. I will quickly come to play with you okay?" When Liam nods, he places him on the floor and follows me into the kitchen to find his wife. "What do you think you are doing Lisa?"

Lisa is already leaning against the counter with her arms folded above her chest.

"I have the right to leave the house whenever I want."

"Do you, now? Is that really how this works huh?" His voice is slowly rising.

"You don't care about either of us, so isn't it better if we just live away from you?"

"Okay, Lisa, that is quite selfish of you. Like seriously. It is true that Liam isn't his son but it's not his fault that it was that way. Like it or not, it's yours. You made the mistake and now you are making him look like he is responsible for it. Jungkook, that does not give you the right to physically abuse my sister. If you have a problem with living with her, just get a fucking divorce. Deal with this like real mature people instead of just walking away from each other or fighting." I need to get out of here before this breaks out into an argument. I grab one of the two large pizza boxes and a Coke and head out to the living room. "I am taking Liam for a walk. I will get him some McDonalds and when we are back, this better be sorted. Don't you dare hit my sister!"

Liam holds onto my hand and follows me outside.

I just don't know how they can even sort out this mess now. Both of them have to decide what they really want and end this once and for all. I get into my car and start driving in the direction of the nearest Mcdonald's which is somewhere closer to that park Kai took me today. We buy him a happy meal and drive to the park. I secretly hope to see that dog owner even though there is a higher chance he went home already. It has been almost an hour or more.

We sit down on the same bench as earlier and start eating each other's meals.

"Nini." I look down at my sweet nephew. "Why are Dadda and Mamma fighting? Is it because I ate the lollipop in Dadda's office and Mamma didn't tell him about it?"

"No darling, it's not your fault. Also, you stole a lollipop?" I try to change the subject which is quite easy with Liam. He is easily distracted.

"Doggy!" He points straight ahead, and I turn my head around, hoping to see a familiar man and there he stood, still carrying his fluffy pup in his arms, now walking back home I assume.

He stops in his tracks as he turns his head in our direction at the sound of Liam's voice and puts his hood down, followed by the removing of his mask, revealing his face. The street lamp shined right on him, giving me a clear view of his face.

"You?"
