Chapter 29

Taehyung

I watch her make her way towards the bar. I wanna follow her but I can't so I do the only thing I can. Keep an eye on her. Hailey is in my arms, cuddling me, already asleep. She took too many drinks than she could handle. More than her, I am worried about Jennie who just went to get more. I watch as the fucking bartender gives her the look. Oh, how I would love to smash that glass he is holding against his head. 

All the men around her kept eyeing her like she was a sexual object. That black dress she wore made it much worse. Her ass was barely covered by the fabric. Her breasts were almost exposed. She manages to look cute and sexy in every outfit she wears. I am proud she can do that but at this current moment, I wish I could just grab her and take her out of here where only I can look at her. Where I can touch everything I see, unlike these assholes who can only dream.

A young man, with piercings and tattoos, approaches her and from what I can see offers to buy her a drink. I watch as he asks her something and she points at Lisa. A few minutes later they are walking towards the dance floor. What is this woman thinking? His arms go around her waist and hers go around his neck. 

Get your fucking hands off her body...

I look at Hailey. She is fast asleep. I can't just leave her here on her own. Besides, I made a promise to her earlier and I can't break it just yet. 

Deep breath...

By the time I look at them again, he is holding her hand and taking her out of the room.

Mother fucker! I try to stand up so that I can follow him and protect her but Hailey's grip around me is tight.

"Hailey," It feels weird calling her baby now. "Hailey could wake up, please? I have to go outside for a second." She groans as she moves her head off my body and removes her arms from around my body. 

"Where are you going?" She asks, still drunk as fuck.

"Listen, don't fall asleep okay? Go dance. I will be back in a minute." Before I waste any more time I run out of the room. Either they went upstairs or downstairs. I decided to check upstairs before I headed out. With every step I took towards the third floor, I could her her voice. She is there. However, from what I can hear, I can tell one thing for sure.

She is crying. 

I sprint up the stairs and out onto the rooftop. I look around and see her on a couch with her head on his arm. 

"Get away from her!" 

He looks at me confused. She looks at me with tears in her eyes.

"That's him." She tells him. She was telling him about me. She was crying to him about me. I thought he was hurting her but it was me. I caused those tears. It must have broken her heart to see me and Hailey together like that. I wish I could tell her but I made a promise to Hailey. I cannot break it. I don't know what I am supposed to do now.

"Ah, him." He gets up from the couch. He is a tall built man. A good-looking man. Did she fall for his charm? "You broke her heart?"

"Why the fuck do you care about what happened between us. Stay away from her and our problems. Go find someone else to play with."

"Play?" He laughs. "From what she just told me, aren't you the one playing here? Make up your mind fuck boy! Her or your girlfriend. If you don't want her, let me have her. I will love her the way she deserves."

"You don't even know her! How can you love someone you just met?"

"Well even though you have known her for a long time, you still managed to hurt her. I am sure, me being a stranger, can treat her better than you can." 

I hear footsteps behind me and I turn around to see who it is.

"Hailey?" She followed me here. "Go back downstairs. Please."

"Ah, the girlfriend. Does she know?"

"Just mind your own fucking business for god sake," I tell him and turn towards Hailey again. "Leave. Please."

"No. You need to tell her that you chose me. You should tell her. Now!"

I look at Jennie, who is still on the couch, staring at us, her tears flowing nonstop. Her lips are shivering. Oh, Jennie. My poor Jennie. I wanna hug her tightly. I wanna make her feel alright. I wanna kiss her. I wanna love her.

I walk up to her and kneel down in front of her.

"I am sorry luv. Give me some time. Please." She doesn't say a word but just stares at me. I stand up to leave with Hailey but she holds me by my wrist.

"Don't go. Don't leave me."

I can't Jennie. I can't stay. Not now. 

I will come back soon for you. 

Until then, please wait for me.

I remove her small hand and walk away with Hailey. I can hear her loud cries as we leave and instantly I wanna run back to her. Hailey holds my arm, stopping me from doing so.

I am sorry Jennie.
