Jennie
After having the soup we went back to Rose's place. We made sure to take some for Rose, Jimin and Lisa who were still asleep when we got back. The kids were however awake and Rose's mum was making them breakfast in the kitchen.
"Oh, thank god you brought them something. I was wondering what to make to help them get over their hungover." She was already making pancakes for little ones so I understand how annoyed she must be, having to take care of both kids and adults. I returned to the living room where Jeremy was seated, watching the kids play on the floor. All four of them were building a Lego set that Rose had bought to keep them occupied while we were gone.
I sit down beside him on the sofa.
"Abby is the one wearing the beige top right?" I nod. "She looks so much like you."
I love it when someone says she looks like me. I hate it when they say she looks like Kai because personally, even I see it. Every time I look at her, it reminds me of him. Every time I am reminded of him, it makes me guilty. Guilty for loving someone else. Guilty for breaking the promise I made him to only love him in this lifetime.
"Mommy, can we go home?" She comes to me and whispers in the ear so that the others can't hear. "They don't like to play with me."
"Why not baby?"
"They say I am too small. I am not."
"Of course, you aren't Abby but it's okay. Mommy will take you out shopping today. Okay?" The main reason why I can assure anyone that this girl is my own daughter is this. Her love for clothes is just like her mother's.
"Already spoiling her huh?"
"Not spoiling. Clothes are a need."
"Sure." He pauses, looks at something on his phone which seems like a schedule and says, "How about this? I take both Mommy and Abby shopping?"
"What? No. It's okay, you don't have to."
"Please. I insist. Not for you. I am doing this for her."
I look at my little girl who seems to love the idea. She even walks up to him and sits on his lap. How is she so comfortable with a stranger? See. Just like her mommy.
"Fine. After she takes her breakfast let's go."
I fed her the pancake with some maple syrup while she sat on Jeremy's lap and watched a cartoon on his phone. Look who is spoiling her now. Once she was full, I washed the plate and went upstairs with her to get her washed up and changed. When she was all dressed I sent her downstairs, back to Jeremey while I got changed. I didn't put much effort like I usually did because neither was I in the mood to look good nor had the energy to. So, a simple outfit was the way to go. I woke Lisa up and informed her that I was going out with Abby and that I would come home directly. She just groaned so I informed Rose's mum as well before leaving.
He drove us to the mall where he got a drink for Abby before we started shopping. I first took her to a store to check some clothes for her that she could wear when going to school next month. I picked out a few jeans in her size, a few cardigans in different pastel colours and a cute blue dress. Jeremy picked out a few more clothes which he thought would look good on her and took all of them to the counter. I followed him so that I could give half the amount at least.
"What are you doing? Stick to the deal please." He says when I pull my purse out of the handbag. "I am paying for all of it." I didn't go to argue after that. I decided to treat him to lunch after this. That would make it equal. Once the shop cashier finished billing it all, she put the clothes neatly into about five bags and handed them to Jeremy's hand. "Now let's go get Mommy clothes." He tells Abby and smiles at me.
"You sure you want to follow me around while I shop?"
"Why not?"
"It's gonna take time."
"Oh, I know. I have two sisters. You take your time." I just realized that I told him all about me but I forgot to ask him about himself.
"Okay." He takes Abby by her hand and walks behind me, still carrying all the bags. It took me about an hour and a half to finish checking out all the stores after which I bought around four outfits that matched my taste. He attempted to pay for those as well but I stood my ground. I am not going to use his kindness.
Once the shopping was all done, it was around one in the afternoon and I was sure my little girl was hungry. The pout on her face made it clear so we headed back to the food court to get lunch. Abby said she wanted sushi and even Jeremy agreed so we went to the Japanese restaurant and placed our orders. I tried my best to pay for it but he grabbed my purse from my hand and paid with his card. Only once the payment was made did he return my purse.
"This is unfair. Let me pay for something, please."
"Desert then."
"DESERT! Mama, I wan't desert."
"First eat your meal, Abby. After that, I will get you something."
I got Abby Tuna sushi while Jeremey and I got chicken teriyaki rolls. I sat beside Abby facing him so that I could feed her while eating because Abby still didn't understand how to use chopsticks.
"Jeremy, I told you about myself. Now tell me about you."
"Me?" I nod. He takes a bite and keeps the chopsticks aside. "I am Jeremy. Twenty-eight years old. I own the club we met at."
"What?"
"Yeah. I own multiple clubs in the country. I have two older sisters who are also businesswomen. One owns a cosmetic firm while the other owns a clothing chain. I am single, of course, and that is pretty much it."
"I see. Can I ask you something?"
"Yeah."
"Why are you doing this? Like, why are you spending time with me?"
"At first, I wanted to make you fall in love with me. Now, I just want to take care of you and help you out."
"Do I look like I need help?"
"After seeing how you cried last night, ranting to a stranger, I think you could use the help of a friend. Me."
"How do you plan on helping?"
"By making Taehyung realize what a big mistake he made?"
"Okay, now I am interested. How are you going to do that?"
"I have a plan."
