Chapter 19

                   Lucas

I woke up to no one beside me.  Where Nathan is supposed to be is cold and deserted . Not something I was expecting, especially after the memorable night we had together. Either way, I carefully sit up and run my hand over my belly .

" Wakie wakie little one. " I sigh in satisfaction when I receive a small kick . " Nice to feel that you are awake. "

I get off my bed with a bit of a struggle . It ached like hell to do so but I'm glad I managed . Next on the list is finding clothes, the hardest thing ever . I'm not about to bother putting on my own clothes because nothing fits me, so I drag myself to the side of Nathan's space . There are a few of his clothes here . I feel like he left them on purpose because I refuse to wear anything that doesn't smell like him. I don't know why, by wearing something of his calms me and the baby down . It also makes me feel closer to him whenever he's away .

I nimbly pull on my briefs and one of his large hoodies.  Sighing heavily once that task is out of the way.  I look around my bedroom, and for the first time I realise how clean it is . There's no way I did that, I could only guess that Nathan did it for me since I complained about how tiring it is to clean up, I have to walk around picking up stuff and everything . It's not fun at all and it messes with my aching back . I note to myself to thank him later .

I take the few steps downstairs and find myself walking in the kitchen, right on the kitchen table in the middle of the kitchen, there's breakfast for me . All kinds of different food to choose from . Can this day get any better than this? . Oh God! If I will be treated like this every time Nathan and I do the deed, then it's time to update to sex every day . Just kidding! I wouldn't be able to handle that. 

I also find a handwritten note from Nathan, apologizing because he had work . What surprised me the most is how the hell did he pull this off, he left last night right after we had sex . He explained that he had an early business meeting or something then I came downstairs to find breakfast already made for me? He went out of his way for me? . Sometimes I wonder why he does it . I know that he loves me and the baby , he has shown me every single day since we sorted out differences between us . However, it feels like each time we start being closer and closer, he pulls away a little . I guess we still have a long way to go .

" Good morning!" Josh's booming cheerful voice enters the apartment .

" In here!" I serve myself, making sure that I get the taste of everything Nathan made just for me .

" Wow! " Josh exclaims, joining me " I didn't know you were capable of making your own huge breakfast. " He says while serving himself too .

" I wish" I smirk . Josh looks from me to the table in shock . " What?"

" Who went out of their way to do something this big for you? I mean, I'm a little jealous. Tryon?"

I don't know why but Josh always assumes that there's something between me and Tryon . It surprises me how long this has been going on. Tryon had proved himself over and over again to Josh that he is straight . Josh doesn't seem to get that in his head.

" Nope, it was actually Nathan ." I smile when I think of him and last night's events .

" Nathan Kevens? My one and only big brother?" He ask, I nod quickly . " What the hell did you do to make him cook? That guy hasn't cooked breakfast in like forever . Better drop some tips because ..hmhmm Lucas, this is heaven." He points at the scrambled eggs on his plate while he swallows some .

Easy, had sex with him? I want to say but I hold back my tongue . " I guess he's warming up to me . Helping out a poor pregnant friend?"

" Wish I was pregnant too!" He jokes . We both laugh loudly then quietly continue eating for a while.  Nathan sure can cook . He's better than me in many ways I swear . He better teach me how to cook in the future .
