Chapter 46

AXEL

When I wake up. I find myself on the floor with a warm small body sleeping beside me .

I have seen Tobias up this close, especially his sleeping face but this is different. Not only have I started to care for him, but I have started to realise how stupid the whole thing is. At first, it seems exciting. Something so simple . Something I could just do , get with Nathan and move on with my life . However, now that Tyron wants to kill him. I'm starting to see him in a different way .

For a moment, I don't move . I admire the life Nathan has made with Lucas . A little pang of jealousy fills my heart that it was Lucas instead of me. Even though I know I can't really get pregnant like Lucas, maybe adopting a child with Nathan could have been nice . He seems like the best father to Tobias and partner to Lucas . Something I never thought he was capable of . But again, how could I have known that this will happen? I moved around a lot, never even gave a shit about Nathan's feelings . I just liked playing with his heart, being in control of his life .

Tobias starts to stir in front of me . His small body moving under the soft blue blanket he must have thrown on top of me and himself last night . I shamelessly stare as his eyes slowly flutter open, revealing green hues that remind me of Nathan .

" Hi" He smiles sleepily at me . " Are you okay?" He asks , sitting up . Rubbing his eyes a little .

" No." I admit . Groaning a little when my whole body throbs in pain as I strive to at least sit up.

" Oh" Tobias tries to help me but nothing comes out of his little effort. " I didn't know what to do! I'm sorry . " He plops down next to me with a defeated look .

" It's okay ." I mumble. " Where's he? " I ask Tobias . His face goes slack then he looks at his bare feet.

" He took your things and left" He says .

Seems like I was robbed . Fucking awesome . I once again try sitting up . This time I managed. Leaning against the wall behind me . I take small deep breaths . Did that asshole fuck me up while I was out too?

" You look bad .." Tobias scowls at me across me . Not as bad as him, he looks nothing like the kid Tyron kidnapped that night . His messy hair all over his head , and dirty clothes makes him look like a kid we just picked up from a dumpster . Yeah, I might have not really cared about his hygiene while he was here .

" Thanks man ." That makes him let out a giggle . Even though the pain in my body, and the fact that Tyron robbed me and left me to fall for something I didn't do on my own, I still manage to smile .

Perhaps things didn't go as planned . I might not be getting Nathan back, even Lucas might kick my ass once they figure out my location . Nevertheless, I don't care . At least no one died . That may give me less time in prison or no time at all. I can just hope that Tobias stands by my side .

Tracking down Axel's house was so much easier than Nathan and I thought, especially when we had Cam to convince Axel's parents to give us more information about the house . Let's just say, Cam and Axel were childhood buddies until Axel came out as gay, and Cam fell for Summer .

We took Axel by surprise, the paled face he gave us when he opened his front door was hilarious . Although it was funny and all, his bruised up face raised some questions.

" Where's he?" Nathan frantically asked the shocked Axel in front of him . Shaking his poor shoulders violently .

" Upstairs, napping!" Axel cried out . I think it was more from pain than frustration . Whoever beat his ass, did him good .

" What happened to you?" I ran my eyes over his body . He was on some purple sweats and his hair was a mess . His blue eye and busted lip didn't help his state.

" Tyron might have kicked my ass, robbed me and left town . Honestly, I don't know and I don't care. " He mumbled . Leading me to the sitting area .

Axel looked harmless. Any him fighting us would be pointless . He already looked fucked up . So chilling with him is better than yelling at him, demanding answers on why he did what he did . We already know why anyways .

I joined him on the sofa . Together we stared at the playing TV . " You know, you are going to prison, right?"

" Tobias said that he will not let that happen . " He muttered .

" And you believe him?"

" Yes"

" He's just a kid . "

" Oh he's more than just that ." He grins .

" What the hell did Tobias do to you?" I glanced at him . He looked different. Nothing like the Axel i last saw a few days ago.

" Made me realise that maybe I can do something with my life. "

Oh well, at least Tobias made something out of Axel . I'm not surprised. That little guy can make you question your way of living in seconds. He can be annoying and awesome at the same time. I never thought I would like kids until I met Tobias .

A few hours later, police arrived at the house . Let's just say Axel was right . Tobias and Axel literally twisted the whole story, it sounded so believable to me too .

Tobias told the police that Tyron was the one who kidnapped him . Axel added by telling the police that Tyron knew that he lived alone here . So he knocked at his door in the middle of the night . Since he knew Tyron, he allowed him inside . Only for Tyron to turn on him and hold him hostage, together with Tobias . Since Axel looked pretty fucked up, they easily bought his bullshit.

" I didn't know you were good at lying ." I say toTobias. We are now in the backseat of Nathan's car, on our way home . We are meeting Josh and Lucas there.

" I didn't lie, I just told them what happened, leaving out other parts ." He shrugs beside me.

" Hmhmm, you have a point. I should start doing that too ." I go back to licking my ice cream in my hand .

Nathan looked pleased with himself as he occasionally looked through the review mirror, smiling at himself whenever his eyes landed on the oblivious Tobias in his rightful car seat. Well, I was happy to could have helped too even though it took me time to finally say something but hey! At least that gave Tyron enough time to beat the shit out of Axel and Tobias to give Axel ideas on changing his life for the better . Maybe this whole keeping quiet for a while was good .

However I couldn't help but feel a tang of guilt for what Nathan and Lucas went through . They didn't deserve to go crazy over where their son was and if he was okay, and alive . I have some apologizing to do .
