Tsukasa POV _________________
In my world, everyone is either in the Kamishiro Kingdom, ruled by Rui Kamishiro, or in the Shinonome Kingdom, ruled by Akito Shinonome.
The Shinonome Kingdom is a wonderful place. The king is generous and kind. Not one person dislikes him.
The Kamishiro Kingdom on the other hand is a dull and dangerous place. The king is harsh and often gives punishments to innocent people. Yet something about him draws me in.
It wasn't always this way though. Not too long ago, the Queen was assassinated. They don't know who did it for sure but they have suspicion it was the work of her son, who longed to be king.
Rui Kamishiro.
I happen to fall in the Kamishiro Kingdom. I'm not complaining, this is where I'd rather be. Sure the king of the Shinonome Kingdom is gentler and overall "better" but King Rui. . . Like i said, it's something about him, i just can't seem to put my finger on it.
My whole life, I loved and supported the Queen. She was kind, just like King Shinonome. The two were allies and never fought. When she was killed, he turned bitter towards the now king.
Even though the King is the most likely suspect for the crime, I couldnt help but love him. Everything was alright until people found out about my obsession with the king.
Praising a horrible man came with a horrible price to pay
"Did you know that Tsukasa kid actually likes the king?" People would say.
"What a freak." More would say.
Everywhere I went, I was judged and hurt. Parents would keep their children away from me, shopkeepers wouldn't allow me to buy from them, even my own mother disowned me.
I lived on the streets for my opinion. Despite that, my love and interest for him never weakened. If I was gonna face consequences for this anyway, there was no use in stopping.
Today things will finally change. I see a flier outside of a shop. It's an application for a job? I look at the description. Its.. to be a butler for the king...? My eyes light up. Maybe I should apply?
The paper says to go to the castle at 12pm.... TODAY?! I c-cant go like this! But I don't have any other clothes... I sigh and walk to the castle. While I'm walking, I approach a woman.
"Excuse me, miss?" I say. She looks at me and gags a bit. I make an annoyed face.
"What do YOU want?" She says with disgust.
"I was just wondering what time it was..." I ask.
"Sure... it's..." She checks her watch. "11:54" I gasp. I won't make it in time!
"THANKS I MUST GO! HAVE A LOVELY DAY!" I run away to the castle as fast as I can. I hope that wasn't too rude of me. No time for that! I must get to the castle.
Shortly later, I arrive. Very few people showed up. I guess these people are just desperate for a job. I go to one of the guards in an attempt to go in.
