genre: fluff
ship: jeongchan (jeongin x chan)
warnings: simple and short"mind if i sit?"
when jeongin didn't reply, the man took the seat and leaned forward, looking at him. he continued staring for a minute until jeongin was fed up with the eyes constantly trailing him.
he stood up with his drink and moved to a booth a small ways away from the table, returning his attention to his phone. unfortunately, the man followed close after and used the booth seating to trap jeongin in his spot as he sat next to him.
jeongin glared at the man, trying to display his disgust. the man was incessant and continued to stare and try to strike up conversation, even slipping in flirty lines whenever he could. jeongin scooted further into the corner in an attempt to make his lack of interest clearer. still, the man did not take the hint.
"oh come on, i don't bite."
a hand slammed down onto the table in front of them, almost knocking jeongins cup over. the man jumped in his seat, staring up at the person who hand just appeared.
"i do."
chan glared down at the man crowding his boyfriend. he hadn't moved his hand and was using it as leverage to lean menacingly over him.
"okay, jeez man. no need to be so aggressive." the man, slowly standing from the spot.
"maybe if you'd taken no for an answer, i wouldn't need to be."
"boy never said anything, can't blame me for that."
"i'll have you know i very much can." chan grabbed onto the front of the man's shirt, not aggressive but firm enough to pull him closer. "and if i see you speaking to anyone like that again, i'll break your nose."
the man shoved chan away and smoothed his shirt down, making his way swiftly out of the coffee shop. chan took the spot where he'd previously sat, glaring around the coffee shop and effectively purging the stares they'd gathered.
"did you really just tell a stranger that you bite?" jeongin said after a moment.
"would you prefer i tell you that i bite?"
"i already know you bite. so do half my friends because you can't keep it below the neck."
"you never complain."
"that's a fucking lie."
"you only complain afterwards."
"you think i'm gonna complain during?"
"if you really wanted to, you would." chan leaned in, ghosting his lips under jeongins ear as he spoke.
jeongin pushed him away lightly with a 'shut up' half hidden in a laugh. chan laced their fingers together, now relaxed as he sat in comfortable proximity to the man he loved. they continued to sip their drinks as the sun dipped lower outside the café windows.
styrofoam cups were discarded as the soft sound of bells followed the two out onto the street where they each pulled their jackets closer around themselves. chan also pulled jeongin closer, the warmth that spread through his chest more than enough to satisfy him.
another beautiful day and night spent together, one of many before and many ahead. chan thanked the breeze that put stray hairs across jeongins forehead, allowing him to brush then softly to the side. jeongin thanked the sun that lit up chan's eyes as he stared at them, brightening them to a golden brown.
the two thanked the world that brought them together, for the others arms would always be welcoming. they thanked each other for every moment they got to spend together, safe in one another's embrace.
at home they were loving, cherishing, grateful. even when chan would laugh at jeongin every time he would lose a game to the older. and as always, he would pull out the phrase 'bite me,' which chan would always agree to.
