~ Jade's POV ~
I looked around my room and sighed. My father and Stephanie made me move back into my old house with them. I rolled my eyes at how Stephanie had renovated my room hoping I would like it. It's not that the room was bad, I liked the cream carpet and light grey walls but if she thinks this will make me like her, she's mistaken.
I heard a commotion downstairs and I dragged myself out of my king size bed and out the door of my room. I followed the hallway and down the stairs as the sounds of shouting got louder. I walked into the kitchen to see my stepbrother Ricky shouting at my father and Stephanie.
"Why the hell did you bring her back?! She's never done anything beneficial for the family! She's a mess! No one wants her, not even her own mother!" Everyone turned to look at me as a gasp left my lips. Everyone knows my mother had died from cancer when I was nine years old.
I was sure I saw a flicker of guilt on Ricky's face before it returned to hatred. I walked towards him and glared at him, no longer the girl he could trample all over.
"Ricky, you would do well to remember that I'm not the same girl I was four years ago. I could kick your ass before you even had the chance to say your pathetic name." I sneered at him before walking towards the fridge taking out the orange juice.
I'm sure everyone in the room was surprised by my behaviour, hell even I was! If anyone had the guts to mention my mother to me they would be begging for their lives in a matter of seconds, but that's not why these people would be surprised. They would be surprised because the last time they saw me I cowered in fear from them and never spoke back. That girl is long gone.
I checked the time on the clock to see it was 10:47 at night. Knowing I started school tomorrow instantly drained all the energy from me and I grabbed a glass filling it with juice before walking back towards the kitchen door.
"Jade wait!" I turned to see my da- I mean father looking at me with a nervous expression.
"Yes?" He slowly walked towards me and took out keys handing them to me.
"We got you a car..think of it as a welcome home present" He handed me the keys and I examined them, my eyes landing on the Lamborghini logo. I glanced up a genuine smile appearing on my face.
"Thank you..I didn't expect anything from you though...but thanks."I left the kitchen before anything else was said, still uncomfortable with being nice to anyone from this family. I walked to my room and lay down. Tomorrows going to be a long day.
I woke up to the sound of my alarm blasting Alessia Cara's song Wild Things. I turned the alarm off on my iPhone, another present from my dear family. I got up and made my way to my bathroom, slipping off my clothes and taking a much needed hot shower.
After my shower I went back to my room to get dressed for my first day of senior year. Now I didn't want to look like a slut, but my style has always been more of an upper class look with more flesh showing. Hey if you've got the figure you should flaunt it. And anyway, Stephanie stocked my closet and except the winter clothes everything else pretty much shows skin.
I got dressed and sat at my vanity table to do my make up. After adding foundation, contour and highlight, blusher, mascara and a light lipgloss, I put on my jewellery and shoes and grabbed my bag and phone heading to the door.
