Gang house living room ^
~ Jade's POV ~
I felt my heart skip a beat at the sound of his voice, not in the happy go lucky romantic way, but the heart stopping fearful way. I kept my hand gripping tightly around my phone, knowing I needed to use it now. I finished typing a text to Blaze saying 'help'. It's pretty self explanatory really, I doubt he'd misinterpret it. Hopefully Blaze or someone else could get back quickly, since they were only less than 2 hours away, if they stuck to the speed limit.
I looked up to meet Carter's eyes. To anyone else they would appear to be cold and void of any emotion, however I knew him better than that, he was angry and vengeful.
I looked around to find Ricky, trying to process exactly what had just happened. So even though Ricky hadn't seen me for such a long time and he just found out he was going to be an uncle, he still brought Carter here? What kind of family do I have?
"Get out. Now." I stepped back trying to keep as much distance between myself and the person who raped and beat me, the person who used to be one of my best friends. He let out a sadistic chuckle and shook his head looking over at Ricky.
"You were right, she's feistier when she's pregnant bro." They both laughed, eyeing my baby bump. Bro?I watched the two carefully as they interacted with each other. They seemed comfortable and familiar with each other - like they've known each other for a long time. The way the laughed with each other and spoke so casually like they were talking about what to have for dinner or what was on tv tonight.
"W-what's going on?" They stopped their laughter instantly and both looked over at me, of course keeping their evil smirks etched across their ugly faces. Okay they weren't that ugly but I'm biased...sue me. Anyway, their personalities make them ugly.
"Oh little Jade, you've always been so clueless haven't you?" He laughed and approached me slowly. I stepped back even further but this didn't seem to bother Carter as he stopped and sat down on the coach, leaning back and staring at me.
"Let me enlighten you. I've had people watching you for quite a while Jade. It's funny, your little boyfriend has so many people tracking you and protecting you and those...things inside of you, yet he didn't seem to notice my people watching you. Pathetic." I stared at Carter unable to form any sentences. The one thing running through my head was to tell him not swear around my bump but I doubt he would care.
"That's good Jade don't say anything yet, we haven't gotten to the best part of the story. Take a seat, I know you've been complaining about aches to your doctor. Make yourself at home." I still just stared at him, mainly out of shock at how he knew so much. He waited patiently for about thirty seconds before he pulled out a gun, pointing it at my bump.
"Sit. Now." Not willing to risk my babies' lives I quickly sat on the nearest arm chair which happened to be the furthest away from him. That didn't matter though since Ricky came and sat on the couch nearest to the door. There goes my escape route.
"Anyway, back to the story. Isn't this exciting." He rubbed his hands together and sat up eagerly.
"Ricky is my brother, as you probably guessed. Maybe not actually, you're quite slow. I know right? Plot twist." He chuckled to himself and Ricky grinned, looking over at me.Wait, so if Ricky is Carter's brother - however that happened, does that mean Carter is my brother too? Ew. I must have said this out loud since Carter responded.
"No sweetheart, I'm not don't worry, it's not incest we can still be together. Not that you being my sister would have stopped me anyway, you felt too good to stay away from just because of that minor technicality." I felt bile rise in my throat at Carter's disgusting comments, placing a hand on my chest I willed myself to keep my food down and hoped someone would come quickly.
