69. Trauma

Wanda and Matteo were peaceful asleep in bed. But not for very long. Wanda soon started to wake up to the sound of Matteo's fast breathing. The young woman soon placed a hand on her younger brothers chest to try to help him out to let him know she's there with him. But it didn't seem to work due to Matteo now screaming and yelling before sitting up right away.

"AHHH! I-IM SORRY! IM SORRY! (PLEASE STOP! IT HURTS!) H-HELP ME! (LET GO! MAMA! MAMA!!)" Matteo cried out as he held his chest then soon after he started to dig at his bandage wounds. "Matteo! Matteo! It's okay! It's okay! I'm here! Shhh!" Wanda shot up next to him while she tried to calm Matteo down. Matteo soon looked at Wanda with a terrified look "It hurts! It hurts!!! P-please don't make her come get me again m-mama!" Matteo cried out as he noticed her hold his arms so he doesn't hurt himself more again, since every time he gets the same nightmare of Agatha, Hydra, or the Snap he would always claw at his wounds that still are healing slowly.

Wanda just looked at Matteo with a sad look before she brought Matteo close to her. Wanda had her hand on the back of Matteo's head and her other rubbing Matteo's back. "Your okay baby... She won't come back... I'm here... I won't let her get you bubba..." she said soothingly before she kissed Matteo's head. All the boy did was sob into her as he clutched onto her shirt tightly as if he was going to lose her again. "(Your okay Bubba... i got you...)" Wanda said before she soon felt Matteo calm down and relax in her grasp. "(That's it... calm down guppy... everything's okay...)" Wanda said sadly before she soon pulled away to look at Matteo who had tears running down his face. Matteo sniffled before he clenched his jaw and closed his eyes tightly in pain.

Wanda furrowed her eyebrows "What's wrong?" Se asked as she soon wiped Matteo's tears away with her thumbs. "I-it hurts..." he said sadly before he opened his eyes to look at his worried sisters eyes. Wanda looked at him before she soon looked down where Matteo's bullet wounds were at. She then looked back at Matteo "Im going to look okay?" Wanda said which left Matteo to nod slowly before he sniffled. The red head took a deep breath before she lifted Matteo's shirt up, she soon seen blood already seeping through his bandages. She sighed softly before she looked at her brother "Okay. We have to change your bandages Bubba." She said calmly which left Matteo to tear up again. "Please.. n-no.." he said sadly. "I know I know... it sucks.. but we have to.. it's the only way it'll heal. Now come on.." she said before she got out of bed.

Matteo clenched his jaw before he soon went ahead to get out of bed. Right as he finally got out of bed and trembled then looked over at Wanda who just frowned at him. "Come on Bubba.." she said before she soon started to walk to the bathroom. Matteo looked down at his feet before he soon looked forward to go ahead and started to walk over to the bathroom. Right as he went to the bathroom he waiting in the doorway to see Wanda get everything out. Matteo furrowed his eyebrows before he soon watched her look at him. "Okay bubba. Come here." She said in a soft voice as she waited for him. Matteo's breath hitched before he soon walked over slowly to her. Before he knew it he felt himself get lifted up gently and placed on the counter.

"Okay I'm gonna take the bandages off now guppy." She said as she looked at the 12 year old who just nodded slowly. The woman soon went to work on getting the bandages off slowly. As she was getting them off she soon seen how the bullet holes in the boys body was slowly healing, but now it had more scarring around the edges since the boy would claw at it. Wanda sighed softly before she looked and his back to see that the wounds are almost fully healed. "Okay gup. I'm gonna go ahead and clean you up okay?" She spoke out before he soon grabbed the rubbing alcohol. Matteo did a little tremble before he nodded slowly already knowing the pain that's going to come. Wanda soon sighed knowing the boy will cry "okay it will be quick." She stated before she went ahead to grab a rag and poured the rubbing alcohol on it. She soon started to clean up the wounds quickly, Matteo soon yelped before he soon started to cry out from the pain. Wanda felt bad for him but she had to clean up the wounds so they won't get infected. "Okay! Okay! All done see?" She said as she soon placed the bloody rag down before she cupped Matteo's face.
