Amara

Lili pulls me in to her room and quickly walks over to her closet, looking through every piece of clothing she owns.

"Ok so, Kyle likes you?" I ask her, trying to figure out if this is some nightmare.

"Yes!!!! He gave me a note while I was going to the bathroom to skip class, and the note said 'do you want to go on a date with me?' I obviously said yes because y'know he's super popular and he's really nice to me." Lili responds excitedly.

'He's also a complete idiot who plays girls.' I thought to myself, anger boiling in my blood. I couldn't just tell her what he does to girls, maybe he changed and actually likes her? I hoped that he wouldn't cheat on her or be toxic to her. Even if she isn't dating me I still want her to have a healthy relationship. Wait... what? Lili being my girlfriend? I don't like Lili! I mean she's sweet, caring, beautiful, has an amazing personality, and her eyes could drown you with their beauty... oh no. I HAVE A CRUSH ON MY BEST FRIEND!? My face heated up. I was so confused. I DON'T have a crush on her, but... maybe I DO have a crush on her.

"Amara? Are you ok?" Lili asks me with a confused face.

"Oh! Uh, yes! I'm fine, don't worry." I respond quickly, clearly nervous.

"Oh alright, anyways what do you think I should wear?" She asks me, still looking through her closet.

"I don't know, wear something that screams 'you'?" I suggest, not really thinking.

"YES!!! YOUR A LIFESAVER AMARA!!" She screams, pulling me in to a big hug

I feel my face heating up. I don't get it! Like I said earlier! I DON'T like Lili! But I MIGHT... NO! SHE'S STRAIGHT AMARA!!! At least... I THINK so.

Lili lets me out of the hug snapping me back to reality.

"Ok, Ok! So uhhh, what do you think about this one?" Lili asks me pulling out an orange fluffy dress put of her closet.

"Is that the same dress you wore for prom last year?" I ask.

"Yeah! I feel like it fits my personality!" Lili responds.

"I surely does! But don't you want to wear something new? You know, since Kyle has already seen you in that dress?" I ask.

"You're right, maybe we should go shopping!" She says excitedly, Lili loves shopping like she's a little toooooo obsessed.

"Ok! I'll pay, since it's your special date!" I respond trying to be enthusiastic, when in reality I was mad. I wanted Lili to be MY girlfriend. I wanted her. But I can't have her, because she doesn't want me. She wants Kyle. I had never seen Kyle before, but I just assumed he looked like every other guy from those old high school movies. He's like that one popular kid that everyone loved in middle school. One thing I know about him is that he has over twenty ex's! I may not know him yet but I hate him already.

Lili:

Me and Amara headed downstairs to get ready to go shopping! I loooooovvvvveeeeee shopping soooooooooooo much! It's just so much fun! Anyways, I grab my backpack as Amara grabs her wallet out of her pocket. I just now realize that we can't drive, so how are we getting to the mall?

"Amara? We can't drive, sooooo how are we getting to the mall?" I ask.

"Well, you have like eight siblings one of them can drive us."  She says.

"You're right! Omg you're so smart! Slay!!!!" I say jokingly as we head to Kia's room, she was the second oldest since she was sixteen.

I knock on Kia's door, hoping she would've skipped school as well. She opens the door and stares at us.

"Hey Kia Bia! Could you drive us to the mall?" I ask her, crossing my fingers behind my back.

"Yeah, wait- why are you home?" She asks me.

"Oh! We got let out of school early." I respond, trying not to sound nervous.

"Alright, come on." She leaves her room and head towards the garage.

We follow her, she opens the car doors and we both hop in.
