Mallory slowed her pace as she ended up resting on a tree. Taking several deep breaths after their trudge through the snow, her commandos finally caught up, however Kirena, Aela, and Ariia still fell behind.

Adding to her already fading luck, the campground where the army was supposed hold was infested by three large serpent-like monsters. Along with a few little lesser monsters.

"Gods damnit!" Mallory cursed to herself as there was nothing she or her men could do against such creatures.

"Stay out of my way." She heard as Ariia said rushing by drawing her axe and crossbow.

The small Breton was quick, and very terrifying as she moved. After a moment she was riding on one of the serpents back with her axe embedded in its eye socket. Her crossbow in the other hand with it's bolt in the eye of the other dropping the monster immediately with it's large now corpse make a deep outline in the snow.

Bringing down both of the large monsters quickly, the Dawnguard Huntress finished off the lesser monsters frighteningly quick. Her axe never stopped moving in strong and quick swings, with only small glimpses of the sun reflecting off the metal. The tail ends if the heavy coat she wore floated across the snow as various spins and sidesteps kept her moving.

Taken aback by her graceful speed and brutal efficiency. Mallory only stood there in both awe and fear as she realized the amount of mercy she was shown by Isran. The thoughts were interrupted as the monster huntr jogged over to the Commander, with glowing brown eyes not even breaking a sweat or panting. Instead she was shivering.

"Um..." Mallory barely made out.

"Hurry up it's cold here!" Ariia interjected as she gave the Commander a slight push. "Let's get a fire going!"

The Commander quickly gathered herself as she ordered the bodies cleared and a red banner with the Imperial Dragon built, then eventually tied the bottom to the post after a high gust of wind blew through. A perimeter was set with a few patrolling bowmen while the rest tried to push away the monster corpses. At Ariias expert recommendation while she started a fire.

"Damn!" Mallory groaned as the final serpentine went over the cliffside.

Her and everyone else save for Kirena, whose strength was vividly shown, and the shivering Dawnguard, were sore and achy.

"Kirena." Mallory strained as she sorely walked to the fire and picked up a burning stick then handed it to her. "Help the others get the camp going."

Mallory then dropped to the ground across from Ariia. She then grabbed a fistful of snow and stuffed in pieces where she ached the most.

"You should hop in the cold water instead." Ariia commented.

Mallory only grunted as she laid there.

For a small time the basics of the camp were setup. Fire and tents. Most of her men were sitting or taking it easy after the hard trip. She had ordered Kirena to join the patrolling bowmen. Ariia had picked someone to warm her in a tent. With only light chatter and the occasional and recognizable moans of sex from the Dawnguard, there was nothing to do.

Her orders were to secure a launch point into Winterhold then wait. That was it. So Mallory stuck to her routine of inspection. For a few hours everything was quiet until a strong wind picked up. It howled in her ears, chilling her to the bone as all the fires flickered to the point of snuffing out. The nords ion her team were shivering and rushed to the nearest fire to warm themselves. She only took a few steps before an imperial collapsed by her. She grabbed her commando and dragged him to the closes fire before setting down and warming herself.
