The man pulled out a knife quicker than I had ever seen. I gaped at his incredible speed, but the guy with no name was faster. He shoved me into a table causing me to almost go crashing to the floor. The man and the guy with deep blue eyes held knives at each other. "We both know how this is going to end if you make one more move" Deep blue eyes said. They stared hard at each other and I watched. The other few people didn't even turn to watch. Was it that common to die or fight here that no one even cares? My mind raced and the man lowered his knife and threw me a nod. I looked at him angrily and he smirked.

The man grunted and "Lowering yourself to her kind?" The man asked, throwing his poisonous glare to me. I returned his nasty stare. He was talking about the way I dressed. My corset was torn in the middle and there were many rips in my father's pants. The armored coat I had stolen was the only thing not ripped. "I require something from her" The deep blue eyed guy said calmly. "Watch your back kid, before you know it, there will be a knife in it. If you somehow make it out, I might require a service" He said looking at me with a weird expression. I covered myself with my coat and scoffed. "You'd be lucky if I gave you a flower" I mocked. Anger flashed through his eyes before returning to normal. I turned away before he could reply and deep blue eyes snatched my wrist.

"What" I snarled. He tightened his grip and yanked me to the back of the small building. He shoved me into a seat and I glared at him. "Mind your mouth. If someone puts a knife to your throat, don't expect me to come to your rescue" He said pulling something out of his pocket. "What is this place?" I asked. He ignored me until I repeated my question. "It's a hiding place" He mumbled looking at whatever it was under the table. "Where are we going next?" I asked. He looked up from the paper and raised an eyebrow. "No more fighting?" He asked curiously. "I have my own ideas" I answered and then bit my lip.

"Can I have my knife back? I need to protect myself" I asked. The guy simply shook his head and stood up. "The sun is about to set. We need to leave" He said standing up. A slight breeze wove through the branches and the guy with deep blue eyes reached up and started climbing. I was shocked he could maneuver so easily through the branches. I reached up and pulled myself up with trouble and followed him. I was quite a bit farther behind him, but he'd never look back. He never turned to check if I was still there. Without even a bit of information, I knew he knew I was desperate. Neither his knives, nor his skill with the woods scared me; it was his understanding.

We reached the top and he swung himself to another branch and I followed. "Hurry" He said over his shoulder. I hopped to another branch and then a vicious roar echoed through the woods. The sound shook the trees and I held tight. "To the canopy" He whispered. I scrambled up and the ground began to shake, and then everything was silent. My hand slipped and I gasped. "He found us. Hurry! Climb!" The guy whisper-yelled and I rushed after him. Limbs shattered into pieces behind me and everything seemed to shake.

I reached for a branch to hoist myself up, but another branch broke and I lost my grip. My torso crashed into another branch and I coughed. I couldn't breathe. I gasped and coughed until a growl rose up. I looked straight down and saw a large yellow/red eye staring directly at me. The huge beast was dark brown and he opened his mouth to reveal razor sharp teeth. I moved my arms slowly until I could go up in a push up position on the branch and the beast eyes me with drool dripping from his mouth. He raised a large paw and showed off his claws. My shaky breath made the beast snarl.

Something slammed into the tree next to me and the beast broke. He cried out in anger and lunged at me. Its fowl breath almost knocked me over as I snatched the blade and jumped to a tree higher. The beast followed me, crushing everything in its path. It felt like my entire world erupted in chaos as I jumped again and again. The beast seemed to find the boy with deep blue eyes and my insides tightened. I jumped towards the creature and stuck his shoulder. The blue eyed boy retreated into the trees leaving me behind.
