The Zashi human slowly stood up and faced his mate with mild concern on his face, he frantically asked him. "Sho? What's going on? Why can I understand that kitten?" he finished nervously looking back at Izuku.
"We believe that's his quirk" The Aizawa one told his mate calmly
"We?" he inquired
"We came from Nezu's just now" Aizawa reminded him
Zashi was busy wiping the tiny trickle of blood on his hand from Izuku's clawing against that outer fur around his waist as he replied "Oh yeah, I nearly forgot about that. How is he?"
Aizawa sighed deeply then with a tinge of annoyance in his voice said "Still trying to get me to teach. . ."
His mate's eyes grew wide hearing this and he walked over to a structure growing out of the ground with seating in front of it. He turned something like a larger version of the lightbox towards Aizawa and pointed at it "He got us both today? There was another email from him just this morning"
Then as if he wasn't the one to do it he turned back to Aizawa and sounded slightly upset "Wait a minute, don't change the subject here! How'd you find a quirked animal?!"
Aizawa seemed far too used to this chaotic and fast paced change and only answered without even acknowledging that it had happened "Pure chance, saw him reading a book half asleep."
"Reading?" Zashi asked, curiosity clearly tickled as he glanced back between Izuku and Aizawa who then pulled out his light box from earlier. These humans seemed to be obsessed with these things Izuku thought to himself.
Then showing it to him he told him "Yes reading, look I took a photo!. Isn't he just the cutest?!"
At this point Izuku was more than a little annoyed at being ignored. Sure he'd prefer it if humans don't notice him usually. He's used to hissing in order to keep the filthy creatures from pawing at him or "petting" as they refer to it. This however? To have two of the devils that he knows can hear him speak carry on as if he wasn't there? Well that's just won't do.
Izuku made a noise like he was clearing his throat to gain either of the human's attention and then said while preening his fur to appear regal once they turned to look at him "Ehem, the focus of the conversation is right here, able to hear you, you know?"
"Oh I'm sorry kitten, I'm used to the cats just ignoring us until dinner time." The Zashi one said, turning his full attention towards Izuku again. Izuku was slightly impressed. This one seemed to know its place in the universe then. Serving his kind and not pestering them until needed.
Izuku would soon wish that he never called attention to himself as it seemed like the Zashi human had no concept of personal space. He soon got down and sat on the floor after fussing with his outer fur for some reason directly next to Izuku. "That's a pretty name you have. I'm Hizashi Yamada, and I'm this one's financé" he said, pointing to Aizawa before his face scrunched in deep thought.
"Do cats have a concept of marriage?" he finally asked with a tilted head.
This was one of those words that Izuku had read before but wasn't sure what it actually meant or how it was pronounced until he had heard it earlier tonight and now again. That old prickle of curiosity Izuku nearly always indulged in called out to him again. "What does it entail?" he found himself asking the Zashi human.
This seemed to excite the overly excitable human even more than usual and Izuku nearly had to cover his ears in fear that he might use his quirk again as he squealed in delight. "Oh, we get together with all of our friends and family and promise to always be together no matter what happens. It's an all day affair with a large party at the end of the ceremony. Though it's usually a bit more romantic than all that."
Izuku wondered how this human said all of that without taking a break to breathe. Perhaps a side effect of his loud quirk is that he doesn't need that much air to make sounds? Possible. As to the question if cats have something similar? Izuku thought about how much he could actually say. He doesn't know all that much about cat culture. As much as he prefers them over humans, Izuku has always been pretty much alone. He started with what he did know.
"Well I wouldn't say we have a gathering when it happens but there are times when we decide to stay with only one mate. It's usually something only older cats do so they don't die alone." Panic spread through Izuku as he realized something.
With a shocked gasp Izuku looked up at Zashi studying him then said "humans are weird, you both look young. Which one of you is dying already?!" Then his gaze landed upon Aizawa and with a closer look at the man he sighed deeply.
He stared at Zashi with a sincere look. "Nevermind, I'm sorry for your upcoming loss"
At this Zashi bent over in what Izuku assumed was gut wrenching sorrow and Izuku felt slightly guilty for bringing up this subject. The stunned look on the Aizawa human led him to believe this was a topic they rarely discussed. Perhaps it was rude amongst humans to talk about their imminent death?
Rude or not Izuku's curiosity had been prickled and well, he was never one to put much stock into the old saying that curiosity had killed the cat. How can simply having knowledge kill you? So instead he barreled on and asked while being aware of where to run and escape if they turned on him. "Did you not tell him or something?"
Just then the Zashi human let out a wail that Izuku at first thought was from crying but it went on and it resembled laughter more than cries of sorrow. This confused him even more.
Aizawa seemed to come to his senses at hearing his mate laugh like that then shaking his head in disapproval at Izuku and muttering under his breath. "Little shit"
